the seaside - bts!au

three.

jungkook woke up with a groan, pain shooting through his back.

he realized he was still on the beach.

"aish, my head hurts..." jungkook was barely even able to make a sound as his throat was dry, and his body felt like it was below freezing. he crawled over to the sea and looked at his reflection. face paler than snow white herself, dark circles under his eyes and lips a hue of purple.

he tried to stand up, but his muscles were paralyzed, so he fell down again.

"help... someone... please..." he whispered, and soon passed out again.

"jungkookie.... wake up please" a worried taehyung was sitting beside him, shaking the younger's shoulders. he had carried jungkook home after searching for 4 hours. nobody in the dorm got sleep, as they were looking for their maknae.

"mhh..." jungkook was fully awake after some violent shakes from taehyung. "where... am i?"

soon, yoongi and namjoon came rushing into his room. "ah, jungkook, why were you at the beach?" yoongi looked like he cried a lot. "we were so worried, aish..."

"hyung, i saw a mermaid" a jungkook had a tired smile, and his eyes were closed.

 "mermaid? jungkook, you were probably hallucinating or something." namjoon was confused. a mermaid? they're real? is jungkook dumb enough to go chase after some person-fish?

yoongi and namjoon left once jungkook had taken his medicine. now it was just him and taehyung.

"hyung, i actually saw a mermaid!" jungkook really wanted taehyung to believe him.

"cool, how did he or she look?" taehyung asked, curious.

"there were three males, and one of them-- wait, you aren't doubting me? why?"

"i found this walking along the beach the other day" taehyung took something out of his pocket. a necklace. gold string, with real pearls and a very pretty seashell. "it might belong to someone, but i don't know anyone-- any human, that would wear this... thing."  taehyung was absolutely disgusted by this choice of fashion. "it's not gucci" he whispered lowly.

jungkook suddenly remembered something. jin and hoseok both had necklaces like that, but not jimin. he might have lost his on the shore. "hyung, that belongs to one of the three mermaids i met yesterday!"

taehyung was really excited by now. he also had something to confess to jungkook, so he wasted no time. "jungkook, let's go to the beach tonight, just us."

jungkook nodded eagerly, and went back to sleep
