jungkook was contemplating whether he should ask namjoon or not.
it could have been a hallucination.
it's probably because of that dance, it's so hard! 

when they got back to their apartment, jungkook went up to namjoon's room, but then decided not to. he would think jungkook was crazy.

he went to his room and made a plan.

i'll take a bus to the beach,
i might catch one if i'm quick enough.
i'll take a picture for proof
the mermaid might be a girl, she should be pretty.

he smiled to himself and drifted off into dreamland...

♤timeskip to the next evening♤

"namjoon hyung, are mermaids real?

"of course they aren't... are they? it's a possibility. there's so much of the ocean that wasn't explored yet, but i don't thi--"

"okaythankshyungiwasjustcuriousbye"
and with that, jungkook set off to find a mermaid.

jungkook POV

the ride was like 15 minutes, i should come here more often.

i walked along the shore. no luck in finding pretty mermaids. maybe it was just a hallucination. do mermaids treat fish like pets? what if we're all seeing different colours but we were taught our whole lives that a specific object's color was called something else? what if oxygen is a drug that makes us have hallucinations, which is why when we can't breathe we black out. what if death leads you to the real world, the painful truth?  i got lost in my thoughts and started singing out of boredom.

i sang lost stars, while floating in the water, not caring about my clothes.

then i saw bubbles in the water.
they were coming closer to the shore. closer. closer. a bit too close?
suddenly, a man around my age rose above the water.

no person POV
silver hair

faint abs

plump lips, perfectly kissable

milky skin

a beautiful tail

flawless skin (dermatologists hate him)

jungkook couldn't help but check him out.

"i like your singing" the mermaid eye-smiled, melting jungkook's heart instantly. the mermaid shook his head, and his once wet hair that was flat now had volume, and it looked hot as fuck, honestly.
"ah... thank you" jungkook felt a little uneasy as the mermaid started eyeing his legs and crotch.

"what are these?" the mermaid reached out a hand to his legs and started stroking them.
"legs, they help a human walk. we don't live in water" jungkook relaxed a little, from the free leg massage.

"cool, my name's park jimin, what's yours?"
"jungkook, jeon jungkook. are you here alone?" jungkook might find more mermaids like him
jimin bit his lip and looked down. "i cant find my hyungs."

"oh.. is there anything i can do to help you?" jungkook asked, eagerly
jimin ran his fingers through his hair and bit his lip. "you can help me find them"
jungkook smiled and was fanboying on the inside. oh my gosh he is so hot when he does that.
"alright-AAH"

jungkook was dragged underwater.
jimin guessed that jungkook wasn't used to holding his breath, so jungkook was riding on his back.
jungkook was actually holding on for dear life, while also trying not to touch his torso too much.

after a while, jungkook spotted a green and a reddish tail.
"hey look, more tails!" jungkook was on a lucky roll today. if he finds more mermaids, he could befriend them and gain popularity.
"you found them!" jimin flashed an eye smile and swam off, leaving jungkook to tread on his own.
jungkook was too tired to tread, so he was slowly sinking
well, he thought, if i die, at least i know i was the only person who didn't doubt the existence of mermaids.

jungkook felt a pair of hands wrap around him, and he was brought up to the surface.
"yah, jimin-ah, why did you bring a human to the middle of the ocean?" a mermaid with pink hair asked, looking at jungkook with worry in his eyes.
middle of the ocean? fuck. jungkook was having a mental breakdown, as 3 hot mermaids were looking at him like he was some kind of rare parrot with a genetic mutation.

"please..." jungkook was on the verge of fainting. his voice was very breathy. his face was pale and his lips were bluer than jimin's tail. "take me back to the shore, i can take care of myself from there"

the mermaid with orange hair, toned muscles, abs, and green tail threw jungkook onto his back, and set off, jimin and the pink haired one following.

when jungkook got back to the shore, he had to explain to the 3 mermaids what legs and clothes were for, although he was barely alive. the orange haired mermaid's name was hoseok. the pink haired, jin

the mermaids had to go, so they left jungkook on the shore. ah, i forgot to take a picture. i hope my phone's still alive.

jungkook was going to take his phone out, until he became dizzy, and eventually blacked out.
