2006
Fury looked to the backseat while driving his sleek, black BMW down a dirt road. In the backseat was his youngest daughter. Sashenka or Sasha for short. She was sitting in her car seat fingers laced together with her curly hair in her face.
He smiled looking back to the road almost missing his turn. The three year old stayed asleep for the whole ride considering it was close to ten o'clock.
He stopped the car outside of a large house. There was lots of land and even a shed or barn on the right side. Sasha finally woke up when Fury got out of the door unbuckling and picking her up as well. She instinctively settled into the warm and comforting embrace of her father holding him close.
Fury walked up to the door knocking three times. After a few seconds the door opened to reveal Clint Barton. He tiredly ushered them to come in and sit on the couch.
They sat down and Fury before typing a passcode unlocking a small machine of the sorts. It made a short and near silent wirling sound before counting down. Natasha came down the stairs shortly after with a smile on her face.
The whole ordeal was depressing but Fury knew it was for the best and he was ready to do whatever it took to protect his little girl. Of course since Clint and Natasha weren't able to have children they agreed and they were a couple of the few people Fury trusted.
Sasha, Clint, and Natasha had engaged into a conversation about the difference between simplified and traditional Chinese. Clint and Natasha were stunned of course that a three year old even knew there were two different types of Chinese. She explains how it's like Spanish. Stating how, "Although overall it's the same language there are some things that set them apart."
An intelligent child indeed.
The machine buzzed to let Fury know it was all warmed up. He sighed this is the moment he'd been dreading. He interrupted the debate between his daughter and the adults pulling Sasha aside.
"Remember why I'm doing this. It's to keep you safe. You have to trust me and the Barton's but never trust anyone else understand." He said. Sashenka nodded tears falling freely but no sound escaping her lips. She nodded hugging her father. He kneeeled down hugging back and after five minutes or so he pulled back and injected her in the back of the neck with the machine. Her body fell limp but he caught her.
Pulling her up he noticed Natasha and Clint standing in the doorway. "Upstairs second door on your left." Natasha said. Fury nodded before heading upstairs. The room consisted of gray walls, a twin sized bed with a dark purple conforter and pillows, and a fuzzy black rug over the hardwood floors.
He layed her underneath the blankets before kissing her head. Believe it or not this isn't his first time doing this. He had to do it with his oldest daughter Evelina.
He stayed for another minute two minutes wondering if what he had done was right. But he reminded himself that it wasn't about him. It was about her safety and plus the machine had it's flaws and only had a ninty-two percent success rate.
Until then he could watch her grow up from a distance of course. He's done it before he can do it again. And although the father and daughter would be apart there was no doubt in his mind that they would reunite as father and daughter when things were safer for them.
Whenever that would be.
Fury left the house downcast although he would show it. Clint closed the door behind him turning to his sleeping wife. He smiled before picking her up and taking her to their room.
