6. Time Stopper

“I have to hurry Alex make it fast.” I call my buddy because I think that giving a surprise welcome greeting Rosette could over whelm her when she arrived. I want to ease her stress brought by her work because I want her happy.

“Dude please calm down, I’m talking to the airport owner, could you please relax yourself? Leave this task to me, okay?” He hung up.

I can’t relax, I told to myself. She’s coming and I need to show her how much the groom missed his bride.

My phone rang. It is Rosette. I try to calm my voice. I answer.

“Hello babe, how are you?” I smile. She laughed.

“Honey I’m fine, I’m here to call you that I’m on my way to airport. I can’t wait to see you honey.”

“Me, too babe I want to hold you tight and kiss you hard.” A wide smile drew to my face. I’m so happy that I’m going to wait hours to see you.

“Honey, what is that? You’re so naughty. Don’t worry when I arrived I will give you my super tender kiss with matching bite to your lips.”

“I’ll wait for that babe.” Then I continue. “I love you Rosette.” She paused a moment from laughing.

“I love you, too Mark. Okay I’m at the airport, talk to you later honey.” She hung up.

She’s everything I wish for.

After she hung up, I slid the ring inside my pocket and drive to our favourite flower shop and I choose a bouquet of tulips as usual.

When I arrived to the airport I could see the people gathered by Alex. I stop the engine and got out of my car. Alex is walking towards me. I was amazed by how he handled the decorations. He’s really a genius.

“Welcome to my new masterpiece.” He motioned his hands pointing at the airport.

“You are incredible buddy.” I smile and give thanks to him.

“Anytime dude we are partners but not partners like you and Rosette, you know she might get jealous if she found out.” Alex laugh, I looked at him maliciously then he continued.

“Just kidding dude, don’t be so serious because you will never be my type.” Then we laughed.

“Buddy I want to thank you for everything.” I tapped his shoulder.

“Dude, don’t thank me. You still have to pay. It cost me a thousand dollars you know?”

“I’m going to kill you this time.” He’s running and I am, too.

“Catch me if you can dude, you’re too heavy to run faster than I am.” He laughed aloud.

     Really I like the feeling to be with my best buddy. We are like children at the playground.

We laugh hard then when we both get tired, after that we took our rest. We sit at the bench together with the people who are willing to lend us their help to surprise the love of my life. I’m touched to their thoughtfulness.

“You’re going to meet her soon.” Alex tapped me at my shoulder. This is the care of what I can considered true friend.

An hour ago Rosette are already on board in the plane. I just have to wait for her and everything will settle at its time. I can’t wait for her. I’m so excited because I want to show how much I love her by doing this surprise.

My phone vibrates inside my pocket.

It’s Rosette.

“I love you honey. We are forever like the gold.”

I replied.

“Babe, we are like a light that won’t fade.” I text her then I look at Alex.

“Hey buddy what’s wrong?” I asked.

“Dude, I have a sudden feeling and I can’t figure it out.” He looked completely blown out.

“Buddy don’t worry it will turn out to be fine.” I smile to lighten him up.

He smile then he go to the comfort room.

An hour ago...

It’s going to be great she’s going to have a good time with the surprise. I dedicate this to her with everything because I want her to feel special for me, really special.

The people are getting ready because this would be the time. Alex just finished talking at his phone when he starts walking towards me there is an alarm. I listen carefully and read what’s on the flash screen at the airport.

There is a plane crashed happened that was detected by the radar.

My heart beats fast. I looked at Alex and he looked stunned at the flash. I walk towards him.

He stared at me like he knew it.

“Alex what is it? You knew about it.” I hold his both shoulder with my two hands.

He nodded. “Mark the man that I am talking at the phone is the owner of this airport and he reported this to me because...”

I don’t know if I can bare the pain but I know what is exactly he is talking about.

“Rosette is in that plane Mark.” Alex hugged me tight.

Why on Earth is this happening to me? Please not Rosette. I dropped the ring and I fell on my knees.

“This is not happening because Rosette is on her way here right now Alex.” I point at the arrival area. Alex is sad I could tell it.

“Tell me Alex! She’s going to be here safe and sound.” I burst into cry. The people around us can feel my sentiment.

I feel numbed all over me my body, my mind and my heart. I look around at the crowd my tears are dropping on the floor.

My whole world crash and my life sucks. I hold the ring. “This ring is the only thing that’s binding us together. This destiny that I have is the tragedy of my life. How can I survive without Rosette?” I kiss the ring that supposed to be at her finger at this moment.

Alex guided me to stand and he looked me in the eye.

    “Listen Mark, this shit is actually happening. What comes will go, let us accept the fact that she’s gone. Sounds hard, really hard Mark but this is the life. We have to accept and moved on. You have to tell Mr. Lyn about this so be strong.”

    I stop crying then I look at the ring. This ring symbolized my never ending love for my Rosette. I wish that I am with her when that plane crashed, I will protect her inside that plane and make her feel that even on our last moment will be me and her then I will whisper how much I love her.

I cry again and again. “Mark I am here for you.” I nod.

     I walk outside the airport and I look at the stars above me. This is like the night I proposed to you Rosette. Can you hear me? Why did you leave me? You said that we are forever and you are going to stay with me ‘till death apart us. Our plans we made for the future vanished this fast and all I have is the memory of our moments together.

The cold wind blew. I closed my eyes, still the tears are falling. I want to feel you now Rosette. A moment later I opened my eyes then to my surprised there‘s a tulip at the floor. I picked it and smelled it. I know it’s you Rosette.

Visit me always at my dream.

We are like a gold Rosette I will remember that...

In the night where you wished everything to happen will turn out to be the night where all your wished will vanished with a snap.

I put the tulip inside my car.

I will treasure you babe.

You and I are like gold.
