[Tetsuya (6 years old)]

"Be careful on your way to school, okay?" His mother beamed, a bright smile etched on her beautiful face. Today was a Wednesday, and it was time to go to school.

She happily gave the backpack to her son, watching as her monotonous son walked away, casting a brief backglance at her.

"Goodbye, Mother." He said, nodding then making his way to school.

She waved until he was out of sight. Sighing, she made her way home. What should I make for dinner?

Tetsuya blinked his baby blue eyes, normally walking to school.

What is this?

His gut felt like it was twisting, but as a child, he ignored it. Maybe he should just think about dinner. Right! His mother makes heavenly food, after all.

Nodding at the thought, Tetsuya smiled a bit. But that only lasted a second.

"Hey, kid," the man--- wearing a black suit--- looked down at him. "Have you seen this guy?"

In the picture was an adult, brown hair on his head. He was wearing a proud white suit, his arms spread wide and white doves flying around him, hat in hand.

Tetsuya blinked at the picture, eyes zooming to the face.

Oh, he realized, he's that man I saw before.

The man saw a flash of recognition in the kid's eyes, and he knew that the kid knows the man. "Where did you see him?"

Stubborn as he was, he said, "I haven't seen him."

Then he prepared to walk away. This man screamed danger, and Tetsuya was nervous. He definitely won't sold that guy out to this... this bad man!

He took a step back. The man stepped forward.

Run! Following his instincts, he ran away. His heart was hammering in his chest, the sound filling his ears, and his breath rapid from the run.

No, no, no! Don't let yourself get caught! Don't stop!

He collapsed on the ground, scrambling to get up.

But he was too late— "Think you'd get to escape, kid?"

The man grunted.

Tetsuya whimpered, squirming in his hold. "Please..  let me g-go."

A tut. "In your dreams, kid. Now tell me where this man is."

"I don't know.. I really don't." I only saw him once. Just a glance.

The man grinned, "Well, goodbye then."

And then everything went black.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hurry up!"

Children limped, being pushed around by men twice or thrice their size.

They were dead-eyed, beaten, bruised, tired. Face swollen, scars and bruises evident on their limping bodies.

It certainly wasn't a good view.
