Grace breathed in and out,her eyes filled with tears of joy as she heard from Venom that Pitch, was back! She smiled widely, revealing her white teeth, and green eyes.He was no longer going to be The Lonely Nightmare King,he had a family now;who loves and cares for him.She looked at the garden, sipping tea like usual with another book in her free hand. She wore a simple light blue dress with a sliver ribbon around her waist, they were happy for once. She sat, leaning on a tree with a picnic mat on the grassy floor, which was covered in snow. She didn't mind the snow, she never did.
But it wasn't Jack Frost who made the snow,it was one of the winter spirits' own will in their council,Juniper. She had joined the council a few dozen years ago when she was found by Ernaline and taken under her wing.Frost patterns spread across the tree trunk and branches, and each frost-kissed leaf was magnificent, and she saw Pitch standing underneath the tree on the other side, his smile wider. The Guardians wouldn't ever know the happy side of Pitch, only her council would.Ernaline had tailored his robe to have gold-glided black laces scalloped at its trailing ends and a modest bit of a ruffled formed at the collar with small gold beads at the the tips of pin feathers.
He was holding a black rose, trailing his fingers on the petals, admiring its beauty.Ernaline had also replaced the tooth that had fell out from The Tooth Fairy's punch, which he was thankful for."Reading again,I presume,Grace?"He said, golden eyes darted from the rose to her.She nodded quietly, flipping a page, she loved reading. It was like being underwater for a very long, long time seeing all the characters swim around in their world and fiction.Feeling a great sense of security, feeling serene and peaceful.Blowing bubbles of laughter, bewilderment, and the occasional sniffle. The returning to your own world and feeling satisfied that you didn't drown.
He smiled once again and walked away into the castle, probably because it was too cold-he was shivering a muttering 'I hate the cold'-without hesitation.Grace chuckled and continued to read the book, her eyes scanning every word and detail. She was happy,
For once.
