You look at your crying self in the mirror and wonder
If right from the start, those little gestures meant something.

You try to calm yourself but burst into another wave of tears as you remembered:

"I never stood a chance, didn't I?" You asked almost sounding pathetic.

"That's the sad part," she said, "you did, once."
