While everyone was eating their lunch, Zoë heard many complaints by teachers that stuff had gone missing because cubbyholes had moved.
Patchy suddenly announced what had been happening and that Zoë had a theory. Zoë was then forced to voice her suspicions about the Minotaur in front of all the teachers and students that hadn't been involved in their meeting and, surprisingly, everyone believed she was right so they all finished their lunch and went to have a look for the middle of the labyrinth.
"Does anyone know of a room that doesn't move?" Asked Zoë.
One boy, Matt, said, "the engine room never moved when all the others did."
"That's it! That's the middle of the labyrinth!" Exclaimed Zoë excitedly.
"We need to go and have a look," announced Dylan but nobody seemed willing to go into the engine room for fear that there was a Minotaur in there.
Everyone was afraid the Minotaur would eat them. So Lottie came up with a solution.
"Marisa, Patchy, Dylan, Zoë and I will all go to investigate and you lot can do something else useful."
Everyone was happy with that. The five of them going to the engine room collected a couple of bits of food for the Minotaur and a gift for it. They thought that if they could get on their side they could keep everyone safe.
That was assuming they were right. They didn't know whether there really was a Minotaur. They didn't know what to expect but from Patchy's point of view, it was the only reasonable explanation.
They had all their stuff and were ready to go.
So off they went to the middle of the labyrinth.
