"I have a theory," explained Zoë.
She was back in her room with her roommates.

"We all know myths are real."

Everyone nodded.

"Well, maybe this is another myth coming true. Marisa, you know all about Greek mythology. What's in the middle of the labyrinth?"

"Well, a Minotaur but that's on land," replied Marisa.

"Myths get muddled over time. Originally, it says that the Minotaur was a curse from the mighty god Poseidon. Maybe we've muddled the myth up thinking it was on land. Maybe the labyrinth is on a boat. I mean Poseidon is the god of the sea so wouldn't it make more sense for it to be on or in water?"

"It would make total sense," chimed in Patchy.

Zoë nodded. The thoughts swirled round her head. She closed her eyes to make sense of the jumbled thoughts. She needs to work out how to solve this. Why had this only started when they went off course? Was this the reason they had gone off course? They needed to investigate.

"We need to work out where the middle of the labyrinth is. Work out whether we're right."

They all agreed but, before they could go anywhere, the tannoy system crackled into life and their headteacher told them it was lunchtime.

Everyone rushed off to lunch. Everyone was starving after the swim. Everyone forgot all about the plan. Everyone except Zoë, Lottie, Patchy, Marisa and Dylan, a son of Apollo who was close friends with Zoë.

"Well then," said Dylan, "I guess it'll just be us then."

They all nodded.

"Actually," mumbled Patchy, "I'm hungry."

"I guess we can start investigating after lunch," agreed Marisa so they went off to eat. All the while, the walls moved around them.
