Yugi's POV

I've seen it before... long ago.... a random stranger... would do anything to protect you... a soulmate. That's what the humans would call it. With us merpeople it's just called mate. You got only one mate and no matter from what specie or if it's a He or She... Love is love and if you found it you must never let go. I remember when I was little, my mom always told stories about how special it is to have a mate. Not all people have a mate. The ones without a mate, normally just marry others without a mate. Most people with mates find them on a age around 20-25 ish. It was very rare to find you're mate on my age. But i got this feeling, I just can't shake off.... I never met him before... Or did I?? I've got the feeling I now this guy for centuries.... I saw those beautiful crimson eyes before..... "Atem...." I whisper. Yami looks up at me with tears in his eyes. "W-what did you just say?" "Atem...." I say a little bit louder than before. Yami walks closer to the tank. He gently puts his hand on the glass. I put my hand on the same place. The moment that my hand touched the glass, there was a explosion of light. But even then, I could let my hand slip from the glass. I met him before!!! I remember... sand... lots and lots of sand... the sun... hand in hand... I look up to see who's hand it was.. I meet those crimson eyes.... Atem's crimson eyes.... Our past... Yami was called Atem... and I.... Heba... HE IS MY MATE!!!! How did I forget that!!!! HOW!!! .... how did I ever forget those beautiful eyes...

Yami's POV

The moment Yugi's hand touched the glass a big explosion of light appeared. Atem... I've heard that name before.. The way he said that name sparked something in my head. The moment the light went out I was surrounded by sand... This smell... the heat.. jep definitely Egypt.. long time no see. I look at my hand and see it tangled with another hand. I look up at the person who's hand is in mine. Amnesty eyes stare back at me... Heba... that's his name.. b-but that's Yugi!!!! Yugi or Heba, I don't know, looks at me with the same surprise face. "Atem?" Heba said. "Yes.. I think"  "Does Yami sound better?" He said with a giggle. "Heba or can I say Yugi?" I look at him with hope in my eyes. "So we have a past?" Yugi said. "You can't remember either, do you?"  "I'm afraid not, but I'm willing to find out if you are?" I said, placing my hand on his cheek. "Always" the moment he said that another light appears. "Shall we?" I said offering my arm to Yugi. "As long as I'm with you, always" he said, taking my arm and walking towards the light. I just notice that Yugi isn't a merman here. "Yugi wait..." "what's wrong Yami?" "You're tail? Where is it?" I said, now standing right before the light. "I think in our past, I wasn't a merman" he said giving me a reinsuring smile. "Okay Aibou" "Aibou??" "What? It's perfect my little Aibou" I said grinning. Yugi blushed a little, Owh that's so cute! "Okay, if you have a nickname for me than..." Yugi said. "Mou hitori no boku" "perfect my little Aibou..." I said before we step in the light.
