♔13: Little Prince Roses

♔ Jack's POV

Me and Signe finally made it to the dinner table, the king was already sitting on the other side of the table

We took our seats on the opposite side of the table as the castle waiters start bring our food

The king looked at with a smirk noticeing us holding hand

"Princess Signe, how are you?"

"I'm good, thank you for asking my lord."

The King looked at me before taking a bite of his food.

After dinner, Signe finally spoke, "Thank you so much for having me, and thank you for the lovely dinner but it's getting late and I must returned home."

The king nodded "I hope you have a safe trip, have a wonderful night."

"Thank you my lord."

I hold Signe hand as I walk with her to the main gate, we were talking and walking down the hall

"Jack, remember, you must say something before its too late. I want you to be happy."

"Signe, I just not ready. I have someone in mind but I have a plan. But at the moment, I'm not ready."

Signe just smiled "As long you're happy, I am too."

I watch Signe entering her carriage and waving goodbye

"Until next time my Princess."

♔ Corona King's POV

I watch the carriage riding off and seeing Jack walking back to the castle, I looked back at the knights "Tell the prince to meet me in my office."

"Of course."

Soon I heard the door knocked.

"Enter."

"Lord brother? What do you want to talk about?"

"The Rose Prince ball."

♔ Jack's POV

My eye widen as my brother just said

"The ball. You're not going. Dismiss."

He spin his chair the opposite way as I was shocked

"Brother, what did you say?"

"Did I stuttered? I said, You're not going."

"And why not?"

"Jack, you're too soft. That King isn't friendly, he had a hard past, dealing with harsh life lessons. He may act nice, but deep down he's different. A side of him that he doesn't want anyone to see."

"Does his brother..."

"They have the same parents. They bleed the same blood."

"I- I-"

I don't know why but I feel like crying, my heart feel like it going to break

"Jack, let me say this part. You're soft, a flower, a child. If I give you the kingdom, we will be dead in 5 minutes. Before you can't even talk to a power royal, you must become one, if you aren't, what the point of talking if you already know you're going to lose."

"...."

"Nothing to say? Thought so. And before you say anything like 'I don't love you' or 'you're abusing your power' I am not. I'm doing this to protect you and the kingdom."

I just turn around, walking back to the doors

"I u-understand lord brother."

"One more thing Jack..."

"You will never be King if you keep smelling the roses."
