Demarcus Brown had known Baby since the ninth grade.

He had just transferred from Northern Heights High and he didn't have much friends due to the fact that he was affiliated with the Prophets. Everyone was either scared to be seen with him or they were affiliated with the Santos and simply couldn't befriend a Prophet.

But, Valentina Martinez, being the kind girl she was, took him in with arms wide open despite the constant pleas from her best friend for her not to.

"Vale, my dad will kill me if he sees me with this vato." A 15 year old Oscar Diaz whispered, a sense of caution clear in his tone.

His hair was grown and slicked to the slide.

"Ay, Oscar.. be nice. What if it was you at Northern Heights all alone with no friends.. all because what? A stupid gang rivalry? No." Baby slapped him on the arm.

She walked toward the boy, leaving Oscar to shake his head and stay where was to observe the scene from afar.

"Hi!" Baby's loud and cheerful voice easily caught Demarcus' attention.

He was sporting a green tee shirt with some baggy white track pants. He was definitely a Prophet, but to Baby, he was a lonely freshman in need of friends.

"Wassup wit you?" The brown skinned boy smirked down at the Latina, noticing her exposed chest immediately.

"My name is Valentina. But everyone calls me Baby, either is fine. My friend, Oscar, he calls me Vale." Baby pointed toward the lean teenager who was staring intently at the two.

Demarcus turned his head, his eyes landing on Oscar who was wearing a black tee, obviously labeling him a Santo.

He almost laughed out loud at what his 'competition' was, but instead, he turned to look back at Baby, clearly enjoying his view.

"Demarcus. I go by Dboy, though." He grabbed her hand and gave it a small kiss, his eyes on hers the whole time.

Baby, sending a small smile back to him, pulled her hand away from his and watched in awe as he walked into the school building.

"Help me, lord.." She whispered to herself.

"What was that?" Oscar stepped in front of the girl, causing her to jump back in fear.

She caught her breath and punched him in his side. Oscar laughed at the short girl and put her in a headlock, continuing to walk through the doors of the high school.

"Let go, puto!" She struggled to free herself from his hold but couldn't help but laugh also.

"That, princesa, is something I will never do."

Oscar Diaz never really said those words aloud, but he sure did mean them..
