Just like that. Summer ends and a new school year begins; students do last minute shopping for their supplies and spend the rest of whatever time they have left sleeping.

Vic Fuentes, as a child, adored school and learned valuable lessons off of it. But the most intriguing subject that captured his attention was Spanish. Of course, it being his second language, there were things he didn't know, or how in some areas across the globe, like Spain and Chile, for example, different words had the same meaning.

Not only did Vic enjoy this subject, he wanted to have a teaching career for his future job. Knowing how much he loved school as a kid, he really wanted to change the way students were being taught Spanish.

The world we live in is a terrible place, which concludes the only thing Vic would turn to; his music, or iPod as we would call it. It brought peace and happiness to his heart.

He strolled through the claustrophobic halls of Mountain View High with his earphones glued in his ears and his iPod in hand. He glanced around at the remaining freshmen who were desperately searching for their first hour, and the seniors huddled up against the wall, knowing damn well that they can't wait to graduate and get out of this school to start their new lives and see the real world.

"Here we go," Vic stated, turning the corner and almost tripping over a girl he had in his Spanish class last year. He took out one headphone and sighed at her.

"Sorry, Vic!" the girl yelled, picking up her book that she dropped.

"How many times do I have to tell you? Do I need to tell you every year? It's Mr. Fuentes, Ana," Vic said, shooting her a quick glare, but smiling after. "Where you off to?"

"Math," she pouted.

"Haaa, sucks for you!" the male pointed and chuckled at her. All because Vic was a teacher doesn't mean he couldn't joke around with his students. It's what makes him a fun teacher.

"You act like a cool teenager. You might as well be my friend."

"I'm not your friend."

"Why can't I just call you Vic?" she questioned, cocking her head to the side and griping her books tighter.

"Because I'm a teacher and you're supposed to address me by my last name," Vic grinned, pointing it out as if the teen didn't already know.

"You're like 18!"

"31." After two years of going to this school, Vic would question why she didn't ask him his age a long time ago.

"You are? But you look so young! Have you found a boyfriend or girlfriend yet? If you have, I just gotta meet them!"

"Go to class, Ana," the teacher said, shooing her off to first hour. She ran down the hall and almost fell over a student...or whoever that is wandering around. "Walk, please!"

The young girl was right. Vic did look young for his age. He had long brown hair that reached his shoulders and flowed from side to side when he walked. A small nose ring was hooked to his right nostril, leaving him with one piercing. Thick eyebrows lay above his masculine brown eyes with a small twinkle every time he caught a glimpse of someone attractive.

Speaking of attractive, or attraction, it was no hiding in the closet for Mr. Fuentes about his sexuality. Not only did he like girls, he liked guys and that was that. He's been in this school for five years and he came out on the first day he came here. He literally had nothing to hide, that's why his student just asked if he had a boyfriend yet.

Just as Vic thought, a full house of students ready to learn some culture. He stepped through the door of his class room and noticed that everyone gave him a blank stare. He placed his suitcase on the desk and began to situate some supplies. His pencils scattered all over the desk, and a couple pieces of paper slipped away from his suitcase.

The room was dead silent, but still audible for someone to hear the fat kid breathing heavily in the back.

"Is this a joke?" a short girl blurted, eyeing the teacher.

Vic quickly responded. "Excuse me?"

"You're the Spanish teacher?"

"This must be a freshmen class, isn't it?" Vic received a couple heads that nodded. He sighed and put his iPod in the drawer of his desk. "Alright, well, I'm Mr. Fuentes, and I will be your Spanish teacher for the rest of the year, unless I get sick...and die," he joked, expecting kids not to care, but instead they giggled at his statement. "Any questions?"

Everyone looked around the room at each other and almost a quarter of the class raised their hands.

Another year to come. This is the start of something fresh.

"Here we go," Vic said, eyeing each kid, knowing what their questions would be.
