Y/N's POV

"He's so hot, you are so lucky." My make up artist giggles as we watch Matt Smith on the James Corden show. 

"How am I lucky?" I furrow my eyebrows confused as she looks to me dumbfounded. "He knows you exist. That is a life goal!" She shrieks as she applies my eye shadow.

"Girl please, like he cares what goes on, on the show after he leaves. He probably doesn't even remember Peter Capaldi is the doctor." I speak as a matter of factly to which she sighs. "So mean. Let a girl dream." She frowns and I giggle apologising, watching as her smile returns when the advertisements end and the interview is back on.

As Julia carries on with my make up I'm sat on my phone not paying attention to any of my surroundings, until I hear my name on the TV followed by a girly scream from Julia. I squint my eyes as I focus my attention on what he says.

"So Y/F/N, what do you think of your successors newest companion?" James asks, definitely a teasing grin on his face and Arthur Darvill who is sat next to him.

"She's very beautiful." He smirks and I stare at the screen wide-eyed. He called me beautiful. I literally have no idea why I'm so shocked, it's not like I don't already know.

"The truth is, Matt has a bit of a crush on her." Arthur interrupts and I can figuratively feel Julia faint.

"You been googling her, hitting the net?" James teases and the audience is a synchronised teasing sound of 'oooh'.

"No, no, no. I was just intrigued. It's good to know the show is in good hands. I can tell Y/N is going to be a really good companion. Hell, I would've stayed on Doctor Who if they told me she was my companion." He admits and everyone is laughing, me included.

"He's very sweet." I mumble under my breath as I carry on scrolling through my phone, my cheeks flushed, just as his were on the screen.

1 week later

"Who knew the Met Gala would be so fancy." My mother whispers as she and I finally finish walking the red carpet.

"Mum, it's literally in the name, Gala." I giggle as we start to walk up the steps. I'm confident I'm about to trip but a hand quickly secures itself around my waist, expecting it to be my bodyguard I'm met face to face with none other than Matt Smith.

"You alright?" He asks smiling wide and I return the gesture, slightly embarrassed, if it wasn't for him, I would be face first in front of thousands of paparazzi.

"Thank you. Oh God, this is embarrassing." I mumble as my cheeks only burn hotter. "Nonsense, let me help you up, both of you. Who is this young woman, your sister?" He politely smiles as he pecks my mother's hand.

"Her mother. But we don't have to tell anyone that." My mum giggles as he smirks. Everyone is practically drooling over him, then there's me, stood confused and flustered.

After he helps us up to the top of the stairs my Mum disappears and it's just him and I. "Very lovely dress Ms Y/L/N." He compliments and I giggle.

"Don't call me that, it's Y/N, you saved my life, I owe you." I thank him again and he chuckles as he and I are stood in a comfortable silence.

"I saw your interview." I blurt out by accident and he looks at me mortified. I quickly regret it, nerves getting the best of me.

"Ya, well then, you'd know I fancy you, it's pretty obvious." He awkwardly laughs and I copy.

"Sorry, I'm an awkward person." We both speak at the same time and stare at each other wide-eyed.

"I'm nervous." It happens again.

"Bollocks." That's it, that's when neither of us can control ourselves and burst out laughing. "Were made for each other." He laughs as I look to him amused.

"Dinner?" I ask bluntly and he nods. "Dinner, that would be nice." He pulls his phone out and I type my number in.

"I'll see you soon Mr Smith." I smile as I turn to leave.

"I'm counting on it Y/N." He respond back, the two of us not realising that all of our friends were watching us the entire time, rooting for us.

I can tell whatever it is that is going on between us, it will last and it feels perfect.
