Draco's POV
The dorm rooms were filled with friends and other students. People talked and goofed around, but I was in no mood to socialize. It was the start of the year and I needed to plan how I would win Hermione over. I laid in my bed, my eyes open and my mind wide awake. In about a week or two, I'd walk up to Hermione and ask her to come to the dance with me. If she said yes, I'd talk to her more until I found out more about her and if she said no, I'd shrug it off and laugh, saying that I was thankful she said no and add an insult somewhere in there.
My eyes began to close as the night and my dreams went on, and soon I found myself in a world of my mind. Hermione stood before me, a pinkish cream coloured dress with ruffles down the front. A image of grace, as she walked up to me and grasped my hand. The night passed, hours blending together as we spun across the dance floor. As the clock chimed midnight, her lips leaned toward mine. That soft pink skin glistened in my eyes as I closed them and pulled her closer to me. The kiss was slow, and magical. Her breath tasted of roses and her lips were velvet. The kiss broke off and I let in a breath as I watched those beautiful eyes open...
Hermione's POV
Classes were to start today. I was thrilled. My studies were basically the only thing that could keep my mind off of Draco. I pulled my self out of bed and got ready for the day. I fixed my messy hair and put on the slightest bit of makeup, just to outline the beauty I had. I wasn't strong in the way of looks, but I could makes myself look better with only a hint makeup which worked for me. I ran to catch up with Ron and Harry as they made their way to potions class. Draco passed me in the hallway and gave a little smirk. I blushed a little and continued walking."Did you see that?" Ron asked.
"See what, Draco actually looking happy about something? It's not that big of a surprise. I'd he happy to if I got away from a father like his," I snapped back.
Ron rolled his eyes and continued walking, this time faster with Harry at his side.
"She's gone mental, she has."
The murmur faded into the chatter of the other students as I pulled myself on towards class.Draco's POV
The week flew by in a blur. Hermione payed little attention to me. When I passed her in the hallways she blushed. Had she somehow found out about the dream? I feared that she might have although I had told nobody about it. I pushed through the crowd to get to my dorm. I needed some time to freshen up before I asked her to come to the dance with me.Hermione's POV
Black robes with a green tie. That was the first thing I saw making its way towards me. As I looked up I saw that none other than Draco Malfoy walked towards me, not one of his henchmen nearby. I sat on the edge of the wall with my book in my hands. His blond hair rushed towards me and I heard his words rush out of his lips.
"Hermione, I've been meaning to ask this all week, but will you possibly go to the dance with me? I wanted to ask you before anybody else got the chance to. Anyways, I don't need an answer now..."
His voice drifted off and I found myself staring at his face.
"I-I don't know what to say. How can I be sure this isn't some practical joke? The thing is I can't be, so unless you can prove that you actually like me and want to go to the dance with me by your choice I'm going to have to go with no."
With those words I pushed myself up and walked away, tears threatening to come down my face. The moment I had been waiting for had actually happened and I didn't want to say yes for fear of getting hurt.
