“Uh, man. Mom will ask me why I got my uniform sullied again.” Chace said to himself disappointedly.

“Gomen-nasai [I’m terribly sorry], I didn’t mean to spill your drink to your uniform.” I said, bowing apologetically. Chace looked at me for a few seconds then he said, “Uh, it’s alright, Miss. You don’t need to say sorry to me.”

“No, I think I really need to. I’m so clumsy, I didn’t saw you—”

“No, it’s really okay, Miss. You don’t need to apologize, damage done.” he said, smiling up at me arrogantly. I blushed. Ugh, why am I blushing? Stop blushing Troian! That man’s no good! I scolded myself.

“But care to buy me a new ice coffee at the school Dining Hall?” he said on a commanding tone.

          “Eh?”

“Come on, Miss. Will you?” he said, as he pointed me to go to the Dining Hall. Is this guy for real? Ugh, what can I do? I rant mentally as I started walking to the Dining Hall’s direction. He really is getting on my nerves!!

When I got back to the gate, he was gone! I looked for him at any direction of the school but he really is gone. “Excuse me, Mr. Guard.”

The guard said.

Are you serious? I yelled on my head. Hindi ako makapaniwala na pinapunta n’ya akong Dining Hall para bumili ng coffee n’ya, tapos iiwanan lang n’ya ako sa ere na parang wala lang? What is wrong with him? And what is wrong with me getting fooled by that creep? Ugh! That d-bag, he’s really pissing me off!

When I got home, as expected, Andrew scolded me with his long speech. After scolding me, we went to meet our fellow band members at the warehouse.

(A/N: You don’t think it’s only the three of them in the band, do you?)

Didn’t I mention to you that Andrew is the vocalist and songwriter of our band and Tyreese is our violinist and sometimes plays the flute? Our band mates are also in the room. Our band is compose of six members namely of my brother Andrew, tapos ako, then si Tyreese, Irina Bellisario (our keyboardist. She’s a full-blooded Filipino and an amazing singer/songwriter), Travis Wolfe (our rhythm guitarist. He’s half-American, half-Filipino and the joker of the band), and last but not the least, Magnus Shields (our drummer. He’s also half-American, half-Filipino and probably the best drummer we have).

We are gathered at the table at the warehouse of our house which we called the ‘Famous for Nothing Headquarters’ FNHQ for short. Yung main headquarters ng band namin ay dito sa bahay ng grandparents namin, while yung bahay ng band mates namin ay mga backup HQs.

“Today, a news we are waiting for broke out of the school this afternoon.” Andrew said seriously. “The Events Committee announced the upcoming Christmas Music Fest on the announcement board.”

Every one of us looked at each other in surprise. Why would’ve the Events Committee announced the upcoming music fest this early of May? They usually announce this before our summer break in June (Carter Academy is an international school).

          “Why so early?” Irina asked.

“It’s because they wanted us to write at least two original songs from every band or performer.” My brother said.

“Why so suddenly they want an original song from us? Are they sick of our rendition of the famous songs from other artists?” Magnus asked.

Andrew sighed. “No. It’s because the prize at stake is bigger than our dream to be known at school.”

“What is it?” the five of us asked in unison.

Andrew took a deep breath. “A prize of five hundred thousand pesos will be given, plus a college recruiter from a top performing arts school in Europe will watch this year’s Christmas Music Fest and will award a scholarship to the deserving band or solo performer and can also have a chance to record an album.”

“What?” the five of us chorused in surprise.

“Y-yeah,” Andrew simply replied. “That’s why not just our goal to be famous at school is at stake but the prize for the winner is important to us. Guys, I need all your help to make a great song for the upcoming Christmas Music Fest, are you all in?” Andrew held out his hand on the center of the table. We joined hands with him and cried out, “One, two, three…long live Famous for Nothing!!”
