Chapter 2

I slipped my PJs on the pulled my sleeping bag over my body. I was Absolutely exhausted from the long drive, setting up and unpacking.

We had finished all that stuff about an hour before sundown so I Decided to take the extra time we had before it got dark to look around. Lola wanted to come with me so I agreed with it, trying to play nice for my mothers sake. She really wanted me to befriend her friends daughter.

The first building we crept into was the jailhouse. It was obviously very old but still well-kept for its age.

The wood that the old jailhouse was old and fragile. I noticed some water damage on the walls and as I walked closer to the jail cells I noticed large water puddles in them. But other than that it was in pretty good condition.

The bars on the cell were rusted but still intact it was quite impressive and it made me wonder why this town wasn't restored and used as a tourist attraction. Surely it could make some money that way. But I guess with all the old west towns in the area, this really just was a dime out of a dozen.

My thoughts abruptly cut short by a loud scream from behind me.

"Oh my god!" Lola gasped

I turned to face her to see what all the commotion was about

"R.. Rats!!"

She pointed towards the corner behind the door where there was a family of rats laying in a nest

"This place is Nasty!"

She said in a disgusted tone

I couldn't help but rolled my eyes and laugh. Then grabbed her arm and tugged her out of the old jailhouse.

Right Next door to the jailhouse was the saloon.

I laughed as I thought of how convenient the location was.

So convenient to drive all the drunken bums out of the and straight into the jail. Smart very smart.

It looked pretty ordinary not nothing special but it was still extraordinary to look at the old styles that you just don't see anymore.

Empty rotting seats and broken down tables scattered all around the room. And of course no saloon would be complete without the bar.

And there it was cracked and dented.

I could still see old bottles of crudely made whiskey and moonshine just left on the long bar table.

Something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention . It was an old grand piano in the corner of the room.

While everything else looked cracked old and dented this looked untouched. Not even a spec of dust brushed on its shiny polished wood surface.

Eventually I got a creepy vibe and decided to leave, to go explore more of the town.

We explored a few places after that like a halfway caved in blacksmiths shop and the supply store with the still intact glass windows, but as the sun was starting to set we decided to go back to the campsite.

Or rather I couldn't take anymore of Lola's complaints so I decided to go back.

Sure enough Lola's mom already had dinner ready. It was Beef stew cooked over the fire with a side dish of rice.

My mouth watered with every bite. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until now. After dinner there was brief conversation then my mother advised that we all go to sleep early because we have to get up at sunrise. There is no time to be wasted we had to explore this place from head to toe and gather as much information about it as we can.

It was nice to sleep around the fire, with only the cover of the stars as a roof.

I sighed, then rolled over. Thinking about how much work I had tomorrow but eventually my tiredness overtook me and darkness followed and I fell into a deep sleep.

6:15 am

I felt my self slowly awaken but not ready to open my eyes just yet . That's when I pulled the covers over me and signed peacefully into my soft bed.

Thinking back to the events of yesterday, looking forward to the hiking trip we planned on taking.

The thought of Lola's inevitable complaints brought a smile to my half asleep face.

I rolled over onto my side, my face pressing into a soft pillow, so soft I doubted if it was made with anything less then swans feathers.

A sudden, scary thought instantly hit me.

Wait? Why am I in a bed? Aren't I supposed to be sleeping on the ground covered in a sleeping bag?!?

I sat up abruptly and flung open my eyes. I took in my surroundings but had no idea where was.

I was in a room with log walls and laying in a bed covered with big white pillows!

Terrified, I examined the room Further. I recognized this place. Oh yes I knew where I was. I was upstairs in the old saloon

"Shit!" I said out loud angry with myself

I do this quite often, sleepwalk that is. I did it since I actually started walking. The doctors gave me some medication and I took it and then it helped and I stopped sleepwalking.

But I guess my condition is back now, great.

I placed my feet on the dry wood floor and as I stood up the wood beneath me started to creak under pressure.

I glanced out the window that was on the left corner of this room. I saw that the sun was just starting to come up. Maybe I can get back to the camp before anybody knows that I was gone I don't want my mom freaking out, and taking me back to the doctors just to get more pills.

I walked to the old wooden door and opened it. And then sounds started surrounding my ears. Sounds of faint music and laughter.

Man I got to be pretty out of it! Maybe im still dreaming. I thought to myself, shaking my head.

But the sounds only grew louder as I searched to find steps leading back downstairs.

This is some prank or some sick joke that Lola and her snooty, stuck up friends are playing on me. I am going to kick her ass if she thinks she's turning this old historical saloon into a high school party house.

I examined the stairs carefully as I placed my hands on the railing and started to climb down the steps. the sounds of music and laughter just grew louder and louder with every step I took.

I kept my head down concentrating on the steps to make sure I didn't fall through what I thought to be 200 year old rotted wooden boards.

I stepped down the last step then looked up and I almost fainted from what I saw in front of me.

There was man and women alike seated everywhere in this saloon dressed in old fashion clothing. Some looked like bartenders other looked like farmers and farmers wife's.

There were seated in the same chairs that were once broken in a hundred pieces.

The same wine bottles from yesterday were also there but full and new.

I blinked once..twice.. and the third time.. Still.. Still I was not waking up? What was happening where was I? But most importantly

WHEN WAS I?!?
