"Uggghhh, why does school always have to be so tiring?", Adreanna moaned as she woke up for school.

"Anna!! Breakfast ready!!", her father called out from the kitchen.

"Coming!!"
Adreanna turned to her closet to get a simple top and jeans for that day and then ran to the kitchen.

"So...what's today? Maths?", he asked as they fistbump each other
"Yeah....", Adreanna mumbled before taking a sit.

She had always hated school, ever since she joined it.

"Why so moody?",  Mr. Smith questioned.
"Nothing....Nothing at all...."

"Ok then if nothings bothering you, its time to waddle to school!", her father said with chuckle.

Adreanna shot a "you are talking to a teen and not a kid, Dad" look to her dad.

Her father then walked away to start his bike.

After she finished her breakfast, she grabbed her bag and quickly approached her father who was already waiting for her outside with his bike.

Alicia, Adreanna's only friend was walking by the pathway when Adreanna and her dad passed by her.

Alicia was a nerd who also likes to joke around even in times of danger. Adreanna had no friends ever since she started school as she was antisocial, but that was not until she came across Alicia.
She first got to know Alicia when they had a camp organised by the school's Academic Department during the school holidays and for this programme, Alicia and Adreanna were put together in a group with two other girls.

At first, Adreanna acted like her own self but by the end of the camp something had clicked as Adreanna and Alicia were talking to each other as if they had been friends since they were young.

"We're here!", Mr.Smith said as they arrived at the school gates.
He planted a kiss on her forehead and Alicia then ran up to Adreanna as she was walking through the school hallway.

"First lesson?", Adreanna asked Alicia while they walked towards their lockers.

"History"
They grabbed their history books from their lockers and headed for class.

Mr. Stephan, their History teacher, entered the room and exchanged greetings with the students before starting his lesson. Adreanna took out her pen and started scribbling all over her book like she always did during history lessons.

"Scribbling about your favourite artist again, eh?", Alicia smirked.

"Shut up!"

"Class, today I will give you some time to revise for your Maths but I also want you to pass up your History books by the end of the day cause I have been noticing the majority of you daydreaming as I teach", Mr. Stephan said as he shot a look at Adreanna before turning back to his work on his desk.

"Oh crap"

"Busted", Alicia said before walking away to her study group.

Adreanna was a maths genius but she always gets the worst of results for history. Infact, history's the subject she hated the most.

                                                                   *****

"How was maths?"

"As usual it was damn easy and by the way have you realise who are you talking to? Adreanna Smith, the maths genius here", she said.

Alicia just rolled her eyes.

"Adreanna Smith, can you meet me in my office right now?"

They looked up to see Mr. Stephan looking at her with a frown. You know when teachers had that face.

"Someone's in trouble....", Alicia giggled.

Adreanna followed Mr. Stephan into his office and took a seat.

"Ms.Smith, i noticed that your history grades are going down and what's this?", he took out her book and slammed it open.

She saw her doodles and scribbles all over the pages.

"Errrr.....", she shrugged.

"I am very disappointed in you, Anna", he said looking straight at her.

"......."

She just sat there, quiet.

"Who do you think you are? An adult who have so much work that you can show your stress in history class?", he asked angrily.

" I think it's more like 'I hate your lesson' ", she mumbled to herself.

"I am eager to know your results for history", he said sarcastically.

He then told her to leave the room. Adreanna who had been very bored throughout his 'talk' was extremely contented to oblige.

She returned to her classroom to take her bag then headed home.

"Hey, wait up!", she heard a familiar voice

she turned to see Alicia approaching her.

"What went wrong for the maths genius?", she asked mockingly.

"Keep your mouth shut!"

"Awww poor baby was lectured by the history teacher", she continued ridiculing.

Adreanna immediately snatch out a pair of scissors from her bag and pointed it to Alicia's chin.

"Watch it, big mouth", she threatened.

Alicia stood there shocked but Adreanna didn't wait for her, instead, she continued on her way home alone.
