Edd looked at the phone one last time.

He wanted to scream a profanity ar Kevin for leaving him like that. Making him feel the way he feels right now with barely an explanation of why.

Why is it that the second he heard Kevin say his name he almost broke down crying. He was so happy. He gripped the phone and pressed it closer to his face through the slow minutes.

The garden he was in gave him the privacy to think about these things. Kevin called him out of the blue for this? When the cops took Kevin away he was supposed to ver a phone call. But why call him days later and not his lawyer? Everything they talked about was confusing for him.

"Dee. Listen to me please. I dont have a lot of time to say this. I know I left you in a sticky situation even before we had breakfast."

[Edd: What? Kevin your not making sense."

"Listen. You and Dork-zilla take care of yourself beacuse anything between me and you is done. You and Jim have fun in Funkytown. Goodbye Eddward."

'The words Kevin stressed were...Sticky Situation.... Breakfast.... Dork-zilla....Jim, his cacti and Funkytown.'

Well when they were kids they were practically stuck for a wall for hours but why bring that up? That unsanitary form of torture is terrible. Ed used saliva and cereal to seal them against the wall. The level of unsanitary and discussed is unmeasurable to relive. But with everything that happen  why mention his plant? And what is a  'Funkytown?'

"Mr. Vincent. Are you alright?"

Edd jumped in the air when a voice came from behind the rose bushes. Standing up he saw Eddys brother Ethan Jhonson standing in the middle of the pebbled path.

"You seemed upset with that call? Did the other person say anything wrong?"

"...No. Everything is fine."

"Really?"

Edd watched the man almost look pleased with his answer. Another threatening chill went down his spine as he got off the path and started walking towards him. A cold hand touched his shoulder and Ed looked up at those cold eyes. When he tried to move fingers gripped tighter in his shoulder.

For a moment he was reliving that fear he experienced as a child. Bullies and trouble making delinquents always had a skill finding him alone. Edd felt a breath get caught in his chest.

"You can tell me."

Eddward didn't really have much of the gut instincts like Kevin or Eddy did but he knew certain things. The feel of his hand on a shoulder didn't feel concerning at all, it felt more possessive. The smile that was on his face look genuine and sincere but felt empty. Plus the way that Eddys brother loomed over him felt like a predator cornering its prey. Nothing about this felt right.

" You really are a genius aren't you? I'm sure you can figure it out."

Eddward could hear a sarcastic tone in his voice but before he could ask or question. A loud voice came over the far side of the garden.

"Hey sockhead! There you are! I-"

Eddys smile as he ran up along side of him almost reminded him of their childhood. Still after Eddys sudden appearance, a wave of relief washed over him as the man finally took his hand off his shoulder.

"-Eddy! I thought I told you to meet Ms. Heckle for Cerberus project."

Eddys was stopped by a  good mood was thrown off by the negative attitude. Standing correctly he straighten his suit. The annoyed look still on his face often happen when he felt he was being looked down on.

"Don't get your panties in a twist. The deal was signed and delivered. Dudes down in the lab should have it up and running in 6 months."

"Three."

Eddy turned to his brother shocked. This big of a project was too precious for quick skrew ups. But like always his brother was cold and stood firm. His brother was always making decisions without talking to him.

"What?"

"Dont give them time they dont need. Our engineers are one of the bests in the world. Three months."

Ethan didn't give time for his younger brother to speak and just turned his back and walked the mansion. Eddy held out his fingers and act like you is strangling his brother at a distance. Edd thought this was as good as ever to start getting answers.

"Um- Eddy. I wish to ask you a favor if you dont mind."

"Sure man anything. Wha'cha need?"

"I... I believe I left my beloved plant behind at Kevin's house. May we retrieve it later today?"

"You want to get a stupid plant?"

Now what happens next was totally unplanned and completely utterly emotional for him. Edd had this hard angry red faced look on him as he swiftly turn his head back to a shorter friend. Eddie knew how much that plant meant to him all these years.

"Eddy Windel Jhonson! You know how much I care for that plant!  That plant was my only friend whenever I was alone in that house!

Edd was not a crying mess think about his parents. That little cacti was a small and like his baby. He nurtured him and talked to him when he felt lonely. Eddy and Ed were great but often busy.

Edds face was running with snot and heavy tears. He tried to wipe away the mess with his hands. Eddy knew what he said was a big no-no with them. Trying his best he wanted his friend to calm down.

"Hey. Hey. Look I know- What i..... I'm sorry for going to far."

"[Sniffle].... No-No. I'm the one that should apologize for being overdramatic. With everything that's been going on I shouldn't have acted like that."

Eddy felt a dark guilt seeing his friend apologizing like this. You would often see Edward bowing and apologizing like this when he was talking to his parents they would get mad almost every time he tried to build something incredible instead of setting.

"Fine.... We can have someone get-"

"PLEASE Eddy. He hasn't had water in days. I need to get to him as soon as possible."

"... I don't know man. Ethan says with the investigation going on between you and him we can't just go back there."

"... Eddy.... Please? "

Edds bright blue eyes still had tears in the corner of his eyes. Eddy tried not to look at the quivering lip and looked away. Edd just bent his knees to make them eye level.  This face was partikly impossible for anyone to say no to.

"Ugh! Fine.... But if I see shovel chin I'm kicking his ass."

Edd smiled at his friend and hummed with approval. He knew lying to Eddy was wrong but there were things he needed answered.

A gun clicks in the distance time was running out.

So yeah so that happen. By the way I did not expect this to be so dramatic. I just wanted it to be a fluff piece with Kevin and edd.

PS am working on a new Kevin and fanfic later on. Maybe a cute high school version.
