Logan was in court before her and he was the first person she saw.

"Talk about my luck." She muttered as she approached him.

"Hey I'm not happy to see you too." He said smiling at her as he stepped in front of her.

"Get out of my way."

"I don't know what game your trying to play Montez but I'm smarter than you think. You tricked my client into giving you a confession and any foul play here I'll plead that he was not mentally stable at that time and you have been pestering him. It would also be believable when I tell them he thinks his child is in danger and was ready to do anything even lie to protect her."

She sighed. The last thing she had tolerance for was Logan. "Save that for the jury and the judges, Logan."

He looked at her like he had seen a ghost.

"What now?" She asked.

"You called me Logan?" In all his years knowing her, he couldn't remember the time she used his first name.

"Last time I checked it was your name."

He looked at her skeptically. "Fine. Let the best man win."

"Sexist." She muttered as she walked towards the court room praying for an answer.

"Your Honor. According to investigative reports the defendant's house was searched numerous times, six times to be exact but it wasn't until an anonymous tip, that we are not sure how anonymous it was, that the murder weapon was found. Your Honor please cancel the murder weapon as evidence." Logan said to the judge.

"Let's first of all consider it then hear the opinion of a forensic doctor." The judge, Frank Gerard replied.

Few moments later, the forensic doctor mounted the witness stand and it was the prosecuting counsel that was to examine the witness first.

"The weapon submitted in the court, does it match with the weapon used to murder the victim?" Laura asked.

"An exact match. By measuring the length of the wound and the shape you would see that it is a perfect match for the murder weapon."

"That would be all Your Honor."

Few seconds later Logan stood near the witness stand for questioning.

"You said that the defendant's DNA was found on the murder weapon?"

"Yes I did."

"Now I want to know if it is scientifically possible for his DNA to be collected from him, his clothes or his belongings and fabricated on the murder weapon?"

The forensic doctor seemed to be taken by surprise by that question. "Well, I can't say it is scientific impossible and you can't prove your claim is possible either."

Logan smirked. "But there is a chance of possibility there." That made the Doctor silent. "That would be all for now Your Honor."

After they examined a few witness, the judge called them for their closing statements.

Laura stood up facing the jury. She hated that she had to do this. She choose a dead woman over the living. At that point she banished herself and felt dirty all over.
