Have you ever met the perfect girl? She's The one you aspire to be. She's the one who walks down the hall already having the perfect day. She's Summer Vasquez.
She was in the gifted program. She played soccer, and was an elite runner. She could also sing. All this and she was only in 7th grade. She was the youngest in the group and she always knew how to balance it all except for that faithful day.
" My life is over!!!!", Summer said, walking to the library one day.
" Why?" Mike asked. " What happened?"
" I got a...a...a..", stuttered Summer.
" A what?", Mason said in frustration. " Spit it out!"
" A B+!", She sobbed.
Tina felt cheated and looked at her group. " She's kidding right?"
" How did you get a B?" Amu asked. " You're like the smartest person ever!"
" I mean, I had a soccer game last night." Summer complained. " Omg, Do you think that's why I'm falling behind?"
" I'm sure that's not the reason. It's just a B." Bryan told her.
The Next Day
" You guys will never believe what happened!" Summer said, walking to the lunch tables. " My parents saw my grades and said I had to either quit soccer or get a tutor."
" Well that's not that bad." Amy said. " Tina and I are getting tutoring for english."
" Exactly!!" Summer exclaimed.
Amy gave her a look. " I'm gonna let the comment slide because you're upset."
" I can't be seen with a tutor. I'm not brave enough. And what if someone sees me. They'll all see me as a failure."
" So you're gonna quit soccer?" Mike asked in shock. " That's your favorite thing in the world."
" So now you see my problem?" Summer asked. " I mean I would have to go to my algebra class every day for an hour. It would help my grade but it would be so much work. But soccer is my life!"
" Sums. I think you gotta take the tutoring session. It'll really help." Tina told her.
" You're right. " Summer replied.
The next day at school
Summer was sitting in math class when her friend Marley Shark whispered to her. " Did heat the news? One of us is getting tutored after school . Carl Motorson heard Mr. Danny talking about it. They have to go to his class every day for a week. "
For a minute Summer didn't think of anything and then she made a decision.
The Afternoon
Bryan went up to her with a present. " Hey Sums, As a congratulations present, I got you a gift, a new soccer ball."
" Bry.... This is really sweet but i would never use this."
" Well why not?" He asked.
Summer took a deep breath. " Cause I quit the team."
