Author's Note: I actually ship neither BeamKit nor PhaKit outside of this A.U.
This chapter is so fucking long I considered killing myself approximately six times while writing it.

Kit's P.O.V.
When Kit woke up that morning, he was relieved to find his house and all his belongings intact.
He looked at the sleeping figure on his other bed.
Beam was curled up in the blanket Kit had left out for him, and was hugging the pillow tightly.
Kit smiled, wondering – not for the first time – where the boy had come from, why he had such few belongings, why he had come at all.
He stretched as he crossed the space between the beds.
"Beam... Beam," he whispered, gently shaking him.
He heard a bunch of mumbled noises in response.
"Beam..."
"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."
"Beam."
"Hmmmmmmhhhhh."
"Beam! Don't you have to go to work?"
Beam jerked awake, looked around groggily before groaning and crashing back down.
"It does' stat-util 5," he said, now using the pillow to prevent the morning light from getting into his eyes.
"5? 5 P.M.? Until when? How much are these people paying you?"
"Enough."
Kit raised his eyebrows, but shrugged and turned to walk away.
Beam grabbed his wrist. Even though his hand was warm against Kit's skin, the latter felt shivers run down his spine.
"What about you?" Beam asked, sounding somewhat more awake. "Don't you have to go to work?"
"I'm off today."
"Hm."
There was a pause, in which Kit's eyes were glued to where Beam's fingers were wrapped around his wrist.
"Do you wanna go shopping?" he asked.
"What?"
"Well, we'll need to make some rearrangements to the house seeing as there's two people occupying it now."
"Rearrangements? Like what?"
"Food. Clothes. Another cupboard, maybe."
"Kit..."
"What?"
"Don't wanna," Beam said. He closed his eyes again.
"Are you planning on wearing my clothes for the rest of your life?"
"No, but..."
"Then get up. Hurry," Kit said, letting his hand loose from Beam's grip and haphazardly pulling out an outfit from his cupboard. Beam had already seen it last night, but it still amazed him how storage furniture could look like it had been fucked. Everything was everywhere.
"Kitty."
Kit frowned at the nickname, and looked at Beam questioningly.
"You're so cute," Beam said.
Kit rolled his eyes, groaning.
"Get dressed!" he ordered, before disappearing into the bathroom and banging the door shut.
