Beam's P.O.V.

His whole body ached, he felt sore in places he hadn't known existed until right now. He groaned a little.

The sun was too bright when he opened his eyes, but only one of his his hands would move to shield them.

He turned around on the bed and came face to face with the reason.

It was because someone was curled up within his other arm, sleeping soundly, every soft exhale resembling a sigh.

Beam's eyes widened and he jumped out of the bed.

He had been sure that he'd dreamt last night up. It couldn't actually have happened. His first time couldn't have been with a man he'd met a day ago, and for the sole purpose of helping him forget. It couldn't have been real.

But it was.

The vivid memories of him holding Kit as he cried, they were real. The images in his head of him downing liquor as if it were water, they were real. The feelings of Kit's hands in his hair, his nails on his back, his lips on his neck... they had been real.

The gorgeous man he'd been lying next to, his soft pink lips, his dark red hair, his capable fingers that had touched parts of Beam that no one had ever touched before... they were all real.

He took a deep breath and readied himself for the inevitable rejection.

"Kit..." he shook the man gently. "Kit. Wake up."

Kit shuffled in tranquility; seeming like he hadn't heard Beam at all.

"Kit..."

No response.

"Kit, you have to go to work."

That woke the man alright.

He stumbled out of bed, much like Beam had just a few minutes ago, and looked around dazedly.

If it hadn't been for their current situation, Beam would have laughed at how cute he looked, spinning around and trying to take in his surroundings as if he were lost, his arms raised in a defensive manner.

Kit's gaze eventually fell to his lower body, though, and all the blood left his face when he realized he was completely naked. Especially now that the sheets he'd previously been wrapped up in were pooled around his feet.

He met Beam's eyes for a moment before quietly picking them up and covering himself again.

"Don't bother," Beam said, his tone blank. "I've seen everything already."

Beam hadn't meant for it to be teasing, but he saw Kit's cheeks redden a little regardless. The man nodded and refused to meet his eyes altogether, now.

Kit continued to say nothing as he hurriedly disappeared into the bathroom to get ready for work, and he finished the breakfast Beam had made for him in silence.

The house heard no more words that morning. Not even a "goodbye" before Kit slipped out of the apartment gates, leaving Beam watching after him from the balcony.
