Chapter 13

Percy looked at her in disbelief. Everyone had suddenly quietened down and all eyes were on her and Percy. “I thought that you were…dead.” Percy said.

Bianca shook her head. “Father saved me at the last moment. Look Percy I’m so sorry-” Bianca’s eyes widened as Percy closed the distance between them and crushed her to his chest. Tears were dripping down his face and his shoulders shook with silent sobs. “I’m the one who should be sorry! I was supposed to protect you! I thought you died and it was my entire fault!” Percy hung his head and let Bianca out of the hug.

Bianca gazed at him in shock. Had he been blaming himself all these years? She stepped towards him and punched him in the stomach, knocking him to the ground with her unexpected attack.

Percy looked up at her in shock.  He propped himself up on his elbows and looked at her incredulously. “What was that for?”

Bianca sighed. “You really are a seaweed brain! Why would you blame yourself? I was the one who chose to sacrifice myself and I don’t regret that one bit so don’t you go around thinking otherwise!” She huffed and walked back towards Annabeth who raised an eyebrow.

“Where did you hear seaweed brain?” Annabeth whispered at Bianca who smiled mysteriously. “Let’s just say that I was watching over all of you!”

Annabeth looked at her in confusion but Bianca just waved it off and asked Annabeth what happened while she was gone. They both launched off into a conversation that somehow turned to Percy and the stupid things he did.

“Seriously? Percy actually mouthed off Luke?”

Annabeth nodded as she tried to hold in her laughter. Key word ‘tried’. She failed miserably and Percy’s pouting face was the last straw. She burst out into uncontrollable chuckles and Bianca joined in.

Percy just smiled at the girls fondly. His girlfriend and cousin seemed to be getting on well after all those years. He smiled happily before remembering the little girl that came with Bianca.

He looked around and spotted her hiding behind Chiron. “Hey!” He called out before running towards the small girl. She stared at the ground shyly when he reached her. Percy smiled before crouching down to her height. “Hi I’m Percy! What’s your name?”

The girl smiled before answering quietly. “Rheanna but just call me Rhea.” She tucked a strand of long, black hair behind her ear before peering into Percy’s eyes with wide, innocent eyes. “You have cool eyes!” She grinned at him.

Percy couldn’t help but smile back, she was so adorable! He gently scooped her up in his arms and straightened up. “I’ll introduce you to Annabeth! She’s my girlfriend.”

Rhea smiled.

Nico groaned as he woke up. His whole body felt as if though it was on fire.

“I see you’re awake Nico…”

He looked around wildly trying to locate where the voice had come from. He was in some kind of room but it was pitch black and he couldn’t see anything. “Who’s there?” He croaked out warily. His voice felt really sore.

A light flickered on bathing the room in a pale orange glow. He was in a big room and was lying on a tattered mattress. The walls were made of earth and were a dark brown and the floor was just a rocky surface covered by a thin layer of earth. His gaze was drawn to the corner of the room where a tall woman stepped forward. She had earth brown hair that reached to the back of her knees and her eyes were a vivid forest green. She was quite beautiful but there was something about her that made him feel uneasy.

“Who are you?”

The woman smiled and walked towards him. “My name is Gaia; I’m the Greek goddess of Earth.” Her voice was smooth and rich but powerful.

Nico frowned before looking at himself. He was wearing ripped jeans and a black shirt that was splattered with blood. His wrists had turned a dark purple colour and his whole body throbbed with pain. He looked back up at Gaia and opened his mouth.

“And who am I?”

Gaia smiled darkly. “You are my son, Nico!
