Chapter 14

Nico frowned in confusion. “Then why can’t I remember you?”

Gaia smiled sadly. “You were attacked and were almost killed, I barely managed to save you.”

Nico tried to remember but nothing came to his mind. “I’m sorry but I still can’t remember.”

The lady smiled at him again. “That’s fine Nico, you’ll get your memories back but do you want me to tell you what happened and who you are?”

Nico nodded.

“Well your name is Nico and you’re a demigod which means you’re half human and half god. I am your mother and your father was a human but he died.” Gaia broke off and looked sad but carried on. “He was a great man, your father and you look so much like him, but anyway I sent you on a mission and campers from Camp Half Blood attacked you. Their names are Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Bianca Di Angelo and a few others. The gods had sent them to try and kill you but thankfully I was able to reach you in time. Unfortunately you have amnesia which is a result of your near death experience.”

Nico gaped at her in shock. He was supposed to believe all of that? His shock and disbelief must have been evident on his face because Gaia laughed.

“You want proof don’t you son?”

He nodded hesitantly and watched in awe as Gaia’s hands stated glowing a soft green. Immediately the earth beneath her rose and shaped into a platform. She waved her hands again and a giant hand formed in front of Nico. He cautiously stepped onto it and smiled as it brought him towards Gaia.

“Is that proof enough?” Gaia looked at him in amusement.

Nico nodded but then frowned. “If you’re my mother then shouldn’t I be able to have some control over the earth?”

She grimaced before answering. “Unfortunately not, you were cursed by the gods for being my child; they took your powers and replaced them with the weak powers of Hades. All you can do is summon skeletal warriors. I’m sorry.”

Nico sighed in disappointment before shaking his head. “It’s not your fault mother, it’s the gods fault. I swear they will pay for what they have done to us!” He snarled.

His eyes glinted angrily and he was too busy cursing the gods to notice the evil smirk on Gaia’s face. Everything was falling into place, just like she had planned.
