"Mom? Why do you have to go?"

The little girl asked her mom, who was rushinh her valuables into her rather large bag.

"Because if i don't, they will hurt you"

She said, with a serious tone.

"Whose 'they'"

"I wish i knew too, darling-"

Flashbacks of my mother enter my thoughts, making me shiver. She always hated me. She is the reason my father is dead, and that I've had to lie to many people. She makes me sick. One flashback consisted of when i got that first text message, asking if i was sure that my father was really my father. I never did find out who that was..

Suddenly, the door flies open, which i swear was not there, and the two men enter. They smile,

"Alright, let's play a game"

One of them says, twisted.

"What do you mean. What kind of game"

Nick says, disgusted

"Our kind if game."

"Now get up, before we shoot you"

The other man pulls out a gun, and aims it at Nick, the me. We bolt up, and just stand tightly pressed against the wall.

"Follow us"

The man walks ahhead, while the other walks closely behind. They lead us through a bunch of hallways with rooms. We finally reach a room with nothing in it. We all go inside, and stand, scared.

"Here's what we're going to do. When i say go, You will have a two minuet head start to find a hiding spot. If we find you, we kill you. If you find the exit, you're free"

an exit! Finally! I need to find that door.

I exchange a glance with Nick, and he knows that we're working together.

Go

We run out of the room, and into the hallway, deep. We are sure to leave no tracks. We open each door, scanning for spots, then closing.

We are running out of time.

We run it to one room, a living room, with a huge cabinet, a ripped couch, and a bird cage. We quickly close the door behind us, and go to work. Nick hides IN the couch, which looks empty afterwards. I hid in the cabinet. There's a whole bunch of stuff in here, and i spot a suitcase. Im small enough to fit into, so i lay in it, in a fetal postion, and throw some clothes on top of me to cover myself. Quietly, i zip the bag up, which is really difficult.

Now, we wait. Its dead silent.

"Nick?"

I call out

"Yeah?"

He replies, whisper-shouting. I take a few seconds to respond

"I love you"

I say smiling a little

"I love you too"

The words I've wanted to hear, for two days, was that someone loved me, and meant it. Next door, i hear the room being toren apart, and my heart beats faster.

Next thing i know, our door flies open. Only one set of footsteps comes in, giving me little relief. Slowly, his feet pace the room, until i hear my cabinet door get ripped of its hinges. I stop breathing. This is the moment wether i die, or live. A hand lays on the suitcase, and pushes it aside.

Maybe he doesn't think im in here. He goes over to the couch, and lifts it up. I expect Nick to be seen, but he doesnt pop up. A wave of relief crosses me as the man places the couch down, and walks out, disappointed that he didn't find us. I wait about ten seconds before unzipping the bag, and stepping out. I rush over to the couch,

"Nick?"

I lean over the couch. Nicks head pops out, and i smile, gripping his face in my hands, and kissing him. I'm sad we will end in here, but I'm glad we're together. When im finished, he gets out of the couch, he goes to the door. We exit, and continue walking down the hall. As we walk down the hal, a warm hand wraps around my hand and locks fingers.
