I walked up to the jeep, leaning on the door.
Jake: "Hey you."
She took the bandana of her face and left on the sunglasses.
Alyssa: "Hey yourself."
She picked up her machine pistol and shot down two J'avo that were running up behind me.
Jake: "Nice one. I didn't even se-...HEY, are those MY sunglasses?"
Alyssa: "Eh, they look better on me. By the way, I wasn't just diggin' through you're stuff for the hell of it. Well, not this time. Figured you might want this."
She tossed me my Elephant killer magnum.
Jake: "Thanks, babe. Don't what I'd do without ya'."
She climbed over the car door without opening it.
Alyssa: "I dunno. Probably curl up in a corner somewhere waiting for the shit to hit the fan."
She laughed and pulled out a second machine pistol.
Alyssa: "You comin'?"
I smiled and followed her, running towards the attack. Naturally, she brought my gun, but no bullets. I had to yell for her to hear me.
Jake: "YOU BROUGHT ME MY GUN BUT FORGOT THE BULLETS?"
Alyssa: "HEY, IT'S YOUR FAULT FOR NOT LOADING IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! QUIT BLAMIN' ME FOR EVERYTHING! BESIDES, LAST I CHECKED, YOU WERE SOME KIND OF HAND-TO-HAND MASTER. REMEMBER WHERE I LEARNED?"
I hate to admit it, but she had a point.
Jake: "GOOD POINT."
I crouched down, building up to a running charge.

Piers and I were snapped out of our moment by Jake running by us like a bat outta hell.
Piers: "Oh god, why is HE here?"
(Y/N): "Hey, go easy on him. He almost died earlier."
He let out a deep sigh.
Piers: "Well...Guess we'd better go help out."
I pulled my own thermal rifle off my back and nodded.
(Y/N): "You ready?"
Piers: "Born ready."
(Y/N): "Let's go!"
