Chapter 1...

I had this dream. I had a dream where...Where we defeated Grima and everything was back to normal.

My name is Ricken. I am a mage from the Chrom's Shepherds. I was always annoyed when people called me a kid or treated me like a kid. I sighed. I went out of my tent. I saw the nice blue sky along with the glowing golden sun. I grabbed my tombs and headed out. I grabbed my tombs just in case a Risen was gonna attack me. I sighed. I began to practice my tombs like Wind, Fire, and Thunder.

Until then, this day changed my life forever.

I heard crows all over the place. I looked around to find the source. Only to see nothing. Until I heard a voice. This voice sounded so...so...happy?

I tried to follow the source of laughter. But I knew I should not fall for it. It could be a lure from the Risen so they can kill me. I still kept looking for the source. Nothing. Just nothing. I growled and made a cute pout and started walking back. Only to hear even more laughter. This was really starting to creep me out. I finally worked up the courage and went to go find the source. Only to see...a dark mage?

This dark mage was laughing because of...crows? Who would like crows exactly? I looked at this dark mage. Sadly, I couldn't look for long. Why? Because he noticed me.

He actually noticed me! I can't believe this!

"Hi!" He said in a happy tone. I took two steps back. Why would this dark mage be happy? "Um...hi?" I replied to him back. I was so nervous. Just then, he ran towards me and grabbed both of my hands. "I'm Henry! Nice to meet you! Who are you?" He asked to me. I blinked my eyes multiple times. I began to feel a warm blush on my face. Have I gotten shy around him already? Oh no...

I needed to say something. Like anything! As long as it is not embarassing...

"M-My name is Ricken. Nice to m-meet y-you." I stuttered. Damn it, Ricken! Stop being nervous already!

Just then, I heard a giggle from Henry.

A giggle...

A giggle?!

"Well, Ricken. I think we are going to be good friends!" Henry said happily. I slowly nodded. However, my nod made him even more happy.

Holy Minerva, what have I done?

Just then, I heard Henry quietly groan in pain. "H-Henry?!" I asked in concern. He then passed out in my arms. What in the god's name...

I looked at the crows. The crows began to caw and all the crows flew away. I then put Henry on my back and carried him back to the camp. Hopefully, no one sees me with him.

Just hopefully...
