CHAPTER 6

After I had ordered my food, I pulled out my wallet to pay when Hayden stepped up to stand next to me. "Actually, make that two." was the first thing he has said since following me the rest of the way here in silence. He placed thrity dollars on the table much to my annoyance. Grabbing two pepsi, Hayden turned to the cashier saying "Keep whatever is left from that," before moving both sodas to one hand. Turning back to me long enough to gently grab my wrist with his free hand, he ignored my irritated expression and lead us to a random table.

I yanked my wrist free before sitting down in the chair. "Stop that, I like having my wrist belong to me." I said quietly before continuing with "and why did you pay for my food you creeper? I am not sharing and I am certainly able to pay for myself. Especially since I had originally intended to come here by myself." Hayden's expression changed from easy-going to distracted for a brief moment before he flashed a smile and said "Think of it as a...celebratory gift to mark the moment of us becoming friends." I glared and said "Who said we are friends? Technically you kidnapped me."

He barked out a laugh before replying with "Not really, you could have left at any moment. You still can, but you're not which means you enjoy my company." I knew he had won with that statement, but even though I was shocked by however small it was true, it was still true what he said. I still tried to counter that fact, too bad my response was a bit lame. "no. I am staying for the food."

"Ok." he simpley smiled once more. Just then our food arrived. I quickly tore into my food, savoring each bite. After we both had finished. I waited untill we were both outside the building before turning to Hayden. "Thanks, for helping me and paying. Im going home so you can stop following me." I told him before turning and started walking of before stopping and glancing at him from over my shoulder. "We might be able to be friends. We'll find out in time." with that I continued walking. As soon as I got maybe seven feet away, I heard him shout "Bye friend!" which both irritated but brought a small smile to my face.

On the way home I tried to not let the box of emotions that tired to exacpe earlier succed and by the time I got inside the front door, I knew I was in trouble. Sitting against the door were a pair of orange skate school and neon green converse. I tried to make my escape out the front door imagining I was a ninja, but the pounding of two pairs of feet againt the hardwood floor getting closer before stopping made me freeze and squeeze my eyes closed. A voice cleared their throat, and I slumped my shoulders knowing...I'm doomed to another lecture. Slowly turning around, I tried to look as innocent as possible when I greeted Jared as I knew Jared would be fumming. I smiled sweetly at them and closed my eyes trying to appear as innocent and sweet as possible before saying "Hi. Get out." Ryan's head dropped shaking left and right as he muttered just loud enough for me to hear "Bad word choice Jules." I knew that, and I was counting on it to make Jared mad enought to leave and save the lecture for tommorow. Nope, no such luck. Jared's eyes grew into an angry storm, which I just did not want to deal with at the moment. I stared up at him with pleading and tired eyes as I whispered, "Please." He must have seen the defeat in my eyes and body language as the fire vanished from his eyes as if they were doused out, and his face softened slightly. Jared pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and middle finger in a way that I have seen him done so many times before to either calm down or when he is trying hard to figure something out. Ryan took a step toward me and as his eyes landed on me, I smiled sadly and said, "I'm fine Ry. I just need a bit of time alone, I'll see you tomorrow ok?" Ryan walked closer and pulled me into a hug that I didnt know I needed until right then. I wrapped my arms around him to return the hug for a moment then pulled away. "We'll see you tomorrow then. I'll bring him out with me since he's kinda checked out thinking at the moment, haha." was his response as he pushed on Jared's back in the direction that I just came from, also known as the front door. When they got to the door, Ryan slipped on his shoes before reaching for Jared's. At first I thought he was going to put them on him which wouldn't be too far out of the usual, but what he did next made a smile threaten to appear. Ryan looked at Jared for a moment before whipping his hand forward and throwing one of Jared shoes at his stomach. Jared jumped in shock before picking up his shoe and chasing Ryan out the door shouting at him. As soon as they were out the door I closed and made sure it was locked, but before I did you could hear Jared's shout from Ryan throwing the other shoe as well. From the sounds of things, it either his his shoulder or his head, before heading to the kicthen to pull out my drink from the fridge. The rush of engery from the Venom energy drink was enough to kick start my body to stop walking in the zombie fashion it decied to impersonate when I got to the kitchen. Feeling some of my energy come back to me, I dumped my backpack onto the counter and pulled out my textbooks. "Ok so, the next thing. Algebra."
