CHAPTER 6:
It's been three days since the whole "Trevor singing" thing and nothing much happened. I got to know Phoenix better and he is the coolest person ever, honestly. But Trevor seems to be really distant... He didn't even talk to Jesse for the past three days, and that just didn't seem right whatsoever. School was over and I decided to confront Trevor and make sure he is ok.
"Where are you going?" Jesse asked.
"I'm gonna go check on Trevor, you can go ahead and walk home. Ask Camille if she can walk with you, I heard that she was walking home today."
"Ok. See you later."
"KK."
I went on a search for Trevor. Even though I was pretty sure he was with the other skaters of Piedmont.
"SQUIDZ!!" Trevor called. Squidz was my nickname since I was born, honestly.
"Hey!" I replied as he approached me on his skateboard.
"What are you doing here? Sorry but I know that you can never ride a skateboard."
"WOW! You are so positive." We both laughed.
"Ha-Ha yeah but really, is something wrong? Are you OK?!?!" He said while grabbing my shoulders frantically.
"Yeah Yeah DUDE, don't trip!! I was just wondering if you wanted to go explore the neighborhood for a bit. You know, um, go where our legs take us..."
"Ha-Ha. Yeah, I'd love to. Just um, hold on for a sec, K?"
"Yeah, deffinately." I replied with a smile.
He rode his skateboard back over to his "friends" and got his stuff. I quote the friends because I honestly don't know if they were his friends or just people he got along with. In my book, friends are people that you get along with and go to help for. You know, people you can rely on...
"Alright. Where we goin?" Trevor asked as he approached me.
"I honestly have no idea..."
"I got the best Idea ever!!"
"And that would be?"
"They built this skate park about ten minutes from here if we take the bus." I suddenly became embarrassed. Whenever I go somewhere distant I have to let my mom know. This will be fun...
"Yeah um...Please don't make fun of me?!"
"What you have to call your mom or something?"
"Yeah...."
"Ha-Ha, No problem take your time..."
After I gave her an excruciating phone call I got permission. And I felt pretty relieved.
"So...?"
"I can go!!"
"Sweet!!"
"Yep! How much is a bus ticket?"
"No. Don't worry 'bout it."
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I got it covered."
"Well, aren't you the gentleman?"
"Indeed."
Once we made it to the bus stop we stopped and waited on the bench. It was actually pretty deserted, except for the streets. They were busy with cars and trucks and bikes.
"So..." I asked so the silence would be broken
"You...Um...Ugh, I don't even know..."
"Ha-Ha, same here..."
