The next morning I woke up thinking summer, and that it has just started. I'm not going to think about the northern Minnesota bad weather, no thinking of anything bad going to happen, only thinking about being positive.
I looked over at my alarm clock that red 10 o'clock and red block letters. Oh, what am I going to do today on this sunny Friday? Getting up and walking to the bathroom and doing my business, afterwards I walk to the kitchen because my stomach grumbles. Going into the pantry that's filled with food I spot cinnamon toast crunch cereal, our grab it and afterwards open the fridge and grab the milk also.
And finish up my cereal and go back to my room to get ready for the day first to pick up my phone and call Travis. The phone rings three times and on the third one he picks up, "hey."
"Hey, what's up?" He asks I can hear the excitement rolling off his tongue.
"Oh nothing, just wondering what you were doing today," smiling happily.
"I was thinking about just hanging out with my girlfriend. How about you?" I can picture that smirk on his face.
"Well I was going to ask my boyfriend if he wanted to hang out today."
"I think he would love to."
"Ok what do you want to do?" Curiosity waste and my voice.
"What do you want to do?"
"Hmmmmmm, let's go to the dam."
"Ok."
"Do you know how to get there by trail?"
"No..." he answers as his voice trails off.
"I figured," as I let out a small giggle, "how about you come over at noon and will pack another lunch and head over there, kay? " Having on a weary smile on my face as I wait for His answer.
“Sure I’ll be there to see my beautiful girlfriend in my trunks. Try not to miss me to much.”
Blushing I reply, “sorry no can do already missing your voice,” I smile getting ready to say goodbye.
“Bye.”
“Goodbye.”
It really was true I was already missing him even though we hung up seconds before. I don’t want to sound needy but hey oh well at least he can’t hear my thoughts or see my actions, but if he could see me he would be here by my side and I wouldn’t be missing him.
The next hour and a half flies by as my time insisted on putting my black one piece that is gathered up and twisted by my chest as the design. I also have on short shorts not a neon blue but a couple shades lower that has a striped yellow and white pocket, they tie on both sides. Even though I’m not a big person, I just don’t like to be all out there.
After doing that and my regular morning ritual, consisting of brushing my hair and teeth, you know the usual.
I fish the picnic basket out of the kitchen pantry. When I hear a chainsaw of a four-wheeler coming up my driveway, and I know its blue, meaning the person I missed is finally here, I can’t help but smile and chuckle to myself.
My mom is at work, and my dad and brother are at my dad’s business working. Home alone with my boyfriend knocking on the door. I smile hearing the knock even that gives me butterflies. I walk casually to the door even though my heart is racing like a grouse’s mating call, “Who is it?” I say teasingly obviously knowing who it is.
“Your favorite person.”
“Megan, I didn’t know you were coming over,” I easily open the door, “Oh its you psh, who said you were my favorite person?” I say nonchalantly as I’m putting my arms around his neck.
