Name: Hichki

Director: Siddharth P. Malhotra (not the actor)

Cast: Rani Mukerji, Neeraj Kabi, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Shivkumar Subramanium, Harsh Mayar.

Hichki, based on a book, is a movie about a common woman, who is suffering from tourette's syndrome and marks the comeback of Rani Mukerji into the industry after a break of almost 4 years.

Naina Mathur (Rani Mukerji), is an aspiring teacher, who keeps getting turned down by schools because of her syndrome. Naina is a strong character, and the movie deals with the problems she faces, and how she tackles them with her intelligence and maturity. Naina is strong-willed, quick witted and smart, with several degrees to her name. She is assigned a group of "basti ke bacche" who cause a lot of harmless trouble by using smart pranks. Naina helps them discover their true potential, and on the way battles with a few of her own problems.

The storyline, although predictable, doesn't make you feel bored. The script is well written, with a lot of witty jokes that hit right on the head, and make you laugh. The actors playing the students are AMAZING, Harsh catches your attention with his rawness and honest acting. The direction is spot on, with not one hair out of place. Rani's performance is enthralling and so effortless, her portrayal of having tourette's is commendable, which means that she did her homework.

The only part that disappointed me was the character of Neeraj Kabi, his character was extremely one-sided, and very shallow. I wish that the writers had put more effort into developing his character, because, if they had,  it would've been the cherry on the cake.

Overall, the movie was a very entertaining, and fun. It's one of those feel-good movies that you watch on a lazy Sunday.
