Chapter 6 (Friendzone Alert)

Niall's POV

”Oh my gosh! Are you freaking kidding me?” Cate asked, as she got up but still sitting down on the grass.

“Yeah, yeah. Shut up, Cate.” I said, lazily. I kept my head up towards the sky, watching the faint light of the stars shining. What a fucked up world. Too polluted to let in the light of the stars at night.

My brother, well half-brother, Luke, had just told Cate that he caught me watching Frozen. Well, that movie is da bomb, admit it!

“I don’t even like Frozen. Oh my gosh! I don’t even know why you’re my best friend in the whole world, Niall!” she exclaimed.

I finally turned my head sideways and looked at her. She smiled widely as she shook her head. And at that moment, I realized how beautiful her smile is.

You’re my best friend in the whole world, Niall.

“Oh, is he?” Luke asked, looking up at Cate. Cate was sitting next to Luke, who was lying next to me.

Cate looked at the sky, her eyes reflecting the faint light of the stars and with the moonlight softening the color of her eyes. “It’s hard to believe, right? Although he’s such an idiot and he likes to watch Frozen, I still love him. As my fucking best friend in the whole fucking world.” Cate said. She looked down. It wasn’t too dark to see if she smiled or not. And yes, she did.

I still love him. As my fucking best friend in the whole fucking world.

Friendzone alert.

But, damn. She just swore. That was really hot.

“Oh, really? Are they as hot as you?” Cate asked.

I looked at her to find that she was lying down again. Oh, so I had zoned out for a while. “Who are as hot as who?” I asked, completely not knowing what they were talking about.

“I was just telling her about my bandmates,” Luke said. His bandmates. I almost forgot that I had to make him quit his band. But how the fuck? “They’ll be here tomorrow.”

“Tell us about them, Luke!” Cate said, a little too excited. Okay, I got it. Girls are obsessed with band members, I guess?

“So, there’s Calum who looks Asian but he denies being Asian. And there’s Michael who dyes his hair every month. Last but not least, the most badass drummer in the whole world, Ashton, who likes to wear bandanas and takes a lot of selfies.” Luke said. He looked at Cate and smiled at her.

Cate looked down, and what the hell? Did she just blush? That’s so fucking cute but she blushed because Luke smiled at her? Okay, that’s it, Hemmings. You gotta get out of your fucking band.

“I’ll probably gonna take a lot of selfies with Ashton,” Cate said, giggling. I rolled my eyes. Her head turned so she was looking at me. “What? You jealous? Because I’ve never taken a selfie with you?”

“No.” I lied. You’re such a terrible liar, Niall.

The night went on with the three of us just casually talking about random things until I got tired and almost fell asleep. “Niall, don’t fall asleep!” Cate exclaimed.

I rubbed my eyes. “I’m so tired, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.” I mumbled.

“Let’s just go home. It’s 10:30, after all.” Luke said.

“Yeah, I’m kinda tired, too,” Cate said, as she got up and lent Luke a helping hand. He grabbed her hand and got up. "Woah, you weigh like tons."

Then, she lent me a hand, too. "Let's go, Horan."

“So, Cate. I couldn’t help but notice that don’t you have any girl friends?”

“Ugh, I do, actually. Although only one. She has a twin brother. They live around the neighborhood. And sometimes they hang out with me and Niall. You should meet them.”

“Sure. As much as you should meet my bandmates.”

Bla bla bla bla. Bandmates. I had to figure out how to make Luke quit his band. It couldn’t be that hard, right? Or could it?

i know this is so short but i dont really know where this story is going. i really love making fanfics but i hv no experience in love lol so sad but i hope u like this chapter. i hope i can update a new one tonight.
