"Lance, where's mama?" Asked Luis. I bit back tears as I answered with a lie.

Lies.
My life is all a lie.
I was told that I was going to live a happy life.
My parents told me that they believed that I was going to live a very successful life.
With a very successful career.
And have very successful kids.
But, that's never going to happen.
Whenever one of the little kids asks me about why their parents are taking so long fighting the zombies downstairs, my mind reverts back to the moment when I saw them all die. By the time that happened, all the kids were safe on the roof, they hadn't seen their parents die. Except Veronica. Poor Veronica, she was the last person, other than me, to go to the roof, and so she saw her parents die. She hasn't said a word since. And I haven't told a single true statement since we got on the roof.
If we don't get help soon, we're going to die up here. I thought, someone, please save us.
No-one did.
Ugh
I paced a sound some more, lied some more, and cried a ,little bit some more until I just couldn't take it anymore.
I walked over to my lonely younger sister Veronica and sat next to her.

"Th-they're dead..." whispered Veronica in a frail voice.

"I-I know. I'm sorry." I said as she nuzzled her small head into my shoulder.

We sat like that for a bit, until she fell asleep. I me yet her down and wrapped a blanket that we put in the emergency supply kit around her and gently let her lay down and sleep. I got up and started to look around, the sun was going to completely set soon, so the sky looked beautiful. But as I looked more closely, I started to feel a but scared because the sky looked like it was blood streaked. The red on the sky was hard to dismiss, so I looked down at the empty streets instead. A couple zombies roamed around, but then I suddenly watched as they turned their heads in the same direction, it was turned towards a noise, a humanlike noise. I squinted and saw a group of kids around my age running on our street. Soon they were completely visible and I started to shake my arms around rapidly, trying to get their attention. 2 people looked at me, but they just kept on running. Most of the zombies that were in my house were starting to follow them, and among their faces, I thought that I saw my parents...

I shook my head and started to yell "help us!" At them. They couldn't hear me. Soon the other kids started to scream help us too.

They still couldn't hear us. I breathed in a deep breath and screamed at the top of my lungs, "HELP US! SAVE US! SOS!" But we were to late, they were gone, our saviour was gone, but so were the zombies. I looked at the other kids sadly, a long journey was ahead, one that I'm not prepared for.
