"Hey, kid—" I groaned as I opened one eye, seeing Tom looking at me impatiently, "wake up! You need to change into your robes—we're almost there!""Just five more minutes," I groaned, but Tom only narrowed his eyes, the blue irises like chips of ice.
I changed into my robes after that. A voice rang through the train. "We will be arriving at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your baggage, they will be taken up to the school separately."
"Does he count as baggage?" Tom sniffed as he glared at the black cat who hissed at him.
"Danté, let's leave the dead weight behind, shall we?" Noir smirked as Tom flipped off the cat.
"Alright, guys, stop arguing," I ordered as I swept Noir into my arms and almost tried to hold Tom's hand, but my fingers only phased through his body. I walked with the other students, some giving me strange looks at holding a cat.
A lantern bobbed in front of us. "Firs' years! Firs' years over here!" a large and hairy man boomed, but he had a kind smile on his face.
Tom stiffened beside me. "Hagrid?" He almost asked unsurely as I frowned, but didn't say anything, knowing that other people will only give me strange looks for talking to nothing.
"Yeh'll get your first looks at Hogwarts!" Hagrid said with more enthusiasm than a broom salesman, "jus' around this bend here--"
There was a collective gasp as we all stumbled around the road to see a large castle with blinking windows and immense landscape. "Hogwarts," Tom murmured, almost dreamily as he looked at the castle.
"No more n' four to a boat!" Hagrid called out as I searched for an empty one.
There was a boat with four people in it-- one was a pale, skinny boy with dark hair and a lightning scar, the other was a red haired boy, the third was a bushy haired girl, and the fourth with a nervous looking boy who was crying out for someone called Trevor. I later found out that it was a toad.
Noir sniffed as he leaned over and whispered in my ear, "His toad is in the bush."
I unwillingly bent down and reached before I grabbed something slimy and saw a large toad sitting on my hands. I jogged over to the boy who was crying with sheer relief as he almost kissed the toad. It was a shame he didn't. I wanted to see whether kissing toads really turned them into princes.
I took that as a cue to board the boat as the bushy haired girl frowned at me. "Weren't you listening? He said four to a boat."
"Yeah I was," I chirped, "but it was either that or go into the boat with the blond over there--" I pointedly looked at the racist blond who was sneering at me.
"Bloody point taken," the red haired one told me, raising his eyebrow as the giant called Hagrid gave the order for the boats to start sailing across the lake.
I noticed that Tom was looking intently at the boy with the lightning scar. I turned my head, whispering, "Why are you being creepy again?"
Tom shook his head. "He was the boy who killed me. Harry Potter."
"Him?" I frowned, "I thought you said you were a dark wizard, how did you get defeated?"
"His parents died when Voldemort tried to kill him--" Tom said as I raised one eyebrow.
"Wow, your alter-ego is such a nice guy," I said sarcastically as Tom rolled his eyes.
When we arrived at the shore and stepped on the large stone stairs of the castle, Hagrid brought back his fist and knocked hard three times. The door opened the reveal a stern looking woman with square glasses perched on her nose and wearing emerald green robes.
