Chapter 8

Shimon's POV

When I can into her room, a little while later after I finished filing some paperworks, the day was just about to start and I'm already busy enough to realize that she was gone, not in her room where I'm standing in or in the halls near it. 'Didn't she heard what I said yesterday'. A moment passed, that I came to realize something way off reality. 'Or is she a thief that pretended to have fainted in the fire to steal our fortune'. I shook my head in denial from my thoughts. 'That's futile, no thief would ever thought of stealing inside this palace where a lot of soldiers on guard. That's obviously a suicidal act'. I move my feet forward and started walking out of her room and continue through the halls. 'I should find her before Hime does or I'll be toast'.

I walked hall to hall to fine her but so far, I haven't had a clue for her whereabouts. I sighed as I make my turn to my left, to enter another empty hall, which I was wrong for the 'empty' part. Hime stood there. In front of HER, smiling as usual. I turn my gaze to her, only to groan straight at her, "There you are". She was taken by surprise by my disappointed voice which made her to stay quiet while looking back at me. 'Again'. A sighed left me as I turn my attention to Hime who now frowned big time. "Shimon-kun~ come to my study room after breakfast, we'll have an issue to talk about", Hime walked passed me and added, " Shall we go? The sooner we finished our breakfast, the sooner we can have our talk".

We walked the hall in silence, only the sound of our footsteps came to resound it. When we reach the dining room and started eating our meal, no one said a word, just like before, only the sound of our plates and fork and spoon, resound the room, Hime finished first and with a quick glance at me and a smile at 'Mayu-chan', she exited the dining room and went to her study room. When she wan no where in sight, "Gomen...". The girl apologized in a low voice which only I can hear and take the blame on her without hesitant. " Its all my fault, if I had waited in my room and for you to do your job, you wouldn't get into trouble now", she murmured as guilt showed itself in her voice. I took a glance at her and sighed, I caught her attention when she looked at me wide-eyed open. "This always happens before you came here". 'Not to me though'. " Hime is a softy, she never take her consequences too far". 'Sometimes......... She's an overgoing unstoppable machine! Talk about a War Goddess'. Along those thinking and telling her facts... 'More like assuring her'. Pictures of the occurancy was only Tenma suffering, I mean crying for help while Hime was behind him being hold back by Miku from getting loose, because of her overflowing of rage... I took my last meal with a scoop of my spoon and ate it. I stood from my chair and went to the study room.

I walked through the halls again but this time, I was headed to Hime's room. When I came to a stop to a door, Hime's door, I knocked twice, giving her the notice that I was waiting for her response

"Come in"

I twisted its handle and made myself enter her room. Hime sit there, dealing some paperwork's but came to a stop when I made my prescence. She looked at me straight in the eye and smiled.

"Shimon-kun~ Tenma had said his reasons"

I narrowed my eyes a little.

"So?"

"Mayu-chan and Tenma just met and that was when he said his reasons"

She paused for a while, then continued...

"He said that he thought Seigen-kun was here"

"Seigen-san..."

"For Tenma-kun to even sense Mayi-chan's presence to be of those of Seigen's..."

My hand turned to fist as she explained further.

"I guess Mayu-chan has positively got a partial of Seigen's powers. Talk about that she is Seigen's daughter"

"That explains for her Genki Ability"

Hime nodded her head in agreement.

"Shimon-kun, not just her Genki Ability, even those partial amount would multiply to a larger amount as Mayu-chan gets older... From that on, new powers will emerged within her body... Seigen's powers are highly dangerous for humans to take hold of, even for a half-human like Mayu-chan could give possible death".

"So your saying?"

"I'm saying, I don't want Mayu-chan to accept her faith just like that. She's only 16 like ME and she deserves to live a normal life.

"Then why are you telling it to me? Wouldn't it better, if Miku and you were to handle it?". 'You? A 16 year old, don't fool with me Hime, if I remember correctly, your already 1,600 years old. You only had a 16 year old forever body for crying out loud!'.

Hime grins and continued...

"As the strongest of the second batch and my second precious sacred slayer, I, Shiratori, Hime, your Goddess, shall hence forth give you a mission, no, A sacred mission".

I kept silence, waiting for her to continue... Then she pointed a finger towards me and stood from her chair to came up with her order...

"Ikaruga, Shimon-kun, I order you not to be Mayu-chan's guide anymore..."

'FINALLY!' I thought but that light vanished when she smirk. 'I don't like where this is going, Oh No..!'

"Instead... You are going to be Otomi, Mayura-chan's official and sacred guard!"

'WHAT!?!?', In my mind, I'm screaming crazy.

"Why me???"

She him in response and thought about it. A minute later, she smiled.

"Cause its your faith"

I felt like my soul was coming out from my body. 'That Hime...'

"Now, sign this sacred contract that I made so that it would be official", she smiled at me as she approached me and let out her hand in front of me... A second later, flame started forming on her palm, it's heat is spreading and then vanished, leaving only a gold colored opened scroll and a red feather with an ink on its tip. Typically, the opened scroll and the feather are floating right above her palm.

"Is this really a sacred mission?"

"Yes, Mayu-chan is in fact, half-human, she has supernatural powers is that of Gods, so its sacred.

A sighed left me as I took the feather with the ink and wrote my signature on the scroll, after I write it... 'Is this really for the best?' The scroll and feather vanished or should I say, got surrounded by flames again and vanished along with it when Hime closed her hand.

"You and your flames" I sighed as she giggled and went back to her desk to continue her work. 'Why do I have to be so obedient to her?!'

"If you'll excuse me, I have some SACRED MISSION to do", I left her study room and walked the hallways again.

I made mg turn and came to a eye contact with Otomi, she looked at me with a smile. "Ne, what are you about to do now?", she asked politely as I answered, " Its my free time, I'm going to Hime's Dome garden to water her plants". She broke out of her control when she give me a bright smile only to...

"Can I come with you then? I want to help".

"Suit yourself", I walked passed her as she followed me from behind, for a meter away if I would say.
