I woke up the next morning, the truck has stopped because we ran out for fuel, some of the team went to the nearby building that was there to scavenge for anything that can still be used as fuel for the truck. I got up, grabbed my cup, poured water and coffee inside then started to heat the water. The only problem was, I couldn't, I still hadn't recovered my powers yet. I wasn't bothered, I just asked Glen to heat my cup. I started to look for fuel with the team. I was not used to being normal, I used my powers on a daily basis. I still wasn't bothered.

I thought of it as a challenge. I then proceeded the day as a normal person without any powers. We finally got fuel, it took us about two days to find it in the run down 10 story building of what seems to be a former mall. At the moment, I concluded, this wasn't always a desert, I thought that it might have been a city of some sort, this world is really dying. Without my powers I spent most of the time thinking. I hated every single moment that I was powerless.

A week had past by and I was still powerless, I was getting lost, I couldn't do anything to contribute to the team. Besides my slight knowledge in engineering, I was practically useless, before that I was the most productive peerson in the team, I used to do all the heavy work. The progress of the journey slowed down by a lot. When we were attacked, more people wore injured in the process. I felt useless all of a sudden. Without my powers, all I was, is a burden. I felt like something was missing from me, something that made me, me.

The team noticed my behavior. Ruby then approached me, she asked me what was wrong. I said that nothing was wrong, I said that I was just not feeling well. She didn't buy it, she continued to nag until I confessed, I then said everything from the part that I miss my powers to the part that I felt that something was gone. She then said to me, that whether I had powers or not, I was more than that to them. To them she said that I was a leader, a friend, the person that saved their lives from a nightmare they couldn't wake up from.

I then felt a slight raise in my confidence, I was comforted and ready to take on our journey once more, even without my powers. Ruby then raised her eyes above my head and was shocked, I didn't know what shocked her. I stood and looked back and saw a half dead Vic. He was pale, amd limping, the arm I shot was cut off and severely bleeding, I presumed it was because of infection. I wanted to help him, even though he tried to kill me. He was still a person. I approached him when he took of his thick jacket, he had a vest jam packed with C4, and on his other hand, the remaining one, was a trigger. I asked the team to run away, he then threatened us saying if anyone moves, he releases the trigger. Everyone at the time was all within one hundred meters, I wondered how he got so close to us. The amount of C4 on his vest was enough to kill all of us in a blink of an eye. He then said for everyone to huddle up closer or he releases the bomb.

As soon as everyone walked closer, I realized he was about to release his finger on the trigger, the bomb blew up. It made a loud noise. A second later, my eyes were still closed, vut I couldn't feel any pain at all. When I opened them, I saw that out of instinct and adrenaline, I made a force field around Vic, sentencing him to a very compressed death. I felt sorry for him, but on the other hand, I had regained my powers, I was happy and sad at the same time.

I then told everyone to bring the truck and every one very far, the force field was small, and the amount of bomb that blew up was not safe. I guessed, that inside that forcefield, there wull be another explosion if I release it. It was going to be a big blast.

I was the obly one left now, it's time for the fireworks.
