The wind whistles and the waves crash against the boat. After a couple minutes we were out and searching for food. Beef jerky and milk never tasted better. Unfortunately, the hippies took our watered bottles and with our thirst growing by the hour, we decide that we should get it from the pool of water back in the jungle. Along the way I decided to tell Bryant about the green trap door. "It looked like an emerald portal on the ground." I said. "Do you think that's where the hippies live?" asked Bryant. To be honest, it would make a bit of sense. "I don't know, but I'm not about to find out after what happened to Luke." I answer. Luke just got killed by a skin crawler in this jungle and I'm walking right back in. But curiosity grew stronger and stronger on the way to the waterfall. "Maybe our motor is there." says Bryant. A bit of curiosity never hurt anybody, right? We end up turning back to the green trapdoor. "Are you sure you want to do this?" I hesitantly ask. "Let's do this." Bryant answers. We try pulling on the door, but it won't budge. "Maybe there's a button somewhere?" I ask. "Doesn't look like it." Bryant says, looking around. I take out my knife to help with prying open the trap door and just as it made contact with the door, the door starts glowing a bright emerald green color. I let go of my knife and by some magnetic feature, the door pulls my knife to the center and then clicks open. I get my knife back and exchange looks with Bryant. "What are we waiting for?" asks Bryant. We make our way down about 20 bars and stop midway. *Clank!* we hear a sound come from inside the room. With a kitchen in the corner and a TV with a couch in front of it, I'd say it was an average Kalasi living room. We scan around, looking for the sound. *Clank! * we turn our heads towards the sound. A chain was hanging from the roof the room swinging side to side and hitting the wall behind it. There was a battery powered fan right below the chain, so it wasn't all so weird. Bryant had already run towards the kitchen in search for food and water. "If anything, I'm staying here for the rest of my life, away from the skin walkers. If I had a living room like this back home, I'd never leave the house." Bryant joked. I felt uneasy upon entering the room. Something was off, and it was messing with my head. I look at Bryant and ask him if he noticed something off. He says no, but it felt like someone was watching us, waiting for the moment we turn our backs towards them, so they can come out and take us down. "Let's get out of here." I say. But Bryant had other plans. Stuffing his face with figs, he shakes his head. I wasn't feeling hungry but rather thirsty, so I decide to check the mini fridge for water. When I opened the fridge door, a severed head of a deer was rotting inside. Huge maggots were crawling around the inside and a knife, similar to mine, was in the middle of the deer's forehead.
