"Ok, so who's gonna be it first?" Asked Rocky.
"I was first last time." Said Rubble.
"I ain't being it. Somebody else." Said Zuma.
"How about Marshall?" Suggested Skye. "He's a really fast runner. The fastest out of all of us."
"Yeah, I'm sure he'll be willing. But just one question: where IS Marshall?" Asked Chase.
"Huh? That's strange. He was here a second ago." Said Rocky, looking around.
"He keeps wandering off and getting distracted. I'm kind of worried." Said Rubble.
"Yeah." Agreed Skye. "He's been..different lately. Think it's that medicine he's been taking?"
"Maybe. But his sombanulo-somdandil-somantil-whatevew it's called-"
"Som-nambulism." Corrected Ryder, approaching the group.
"Yeah, that thing. It hasn't been happening as much." Said Zuma.
"And while that is true I think I'm going to take him off the medication. I don't like the idea of toxins and chemicals messing with my pups' brains."
"Yeah. We want the old Marshall back." Said Rocky.
Ryder scoffed. "Oh do you? Serves you pups right. You were always taking him for granted. I can treat him way better." He blurted out suddenly.
"Yeah, and-wait what?" Asked Rubble.
"I mean UH, (cough, cough) I just said that pie is good, but cookies are better."
"I'm more of a Pup-treat kind of person but if that's your opinion." Said Chase.
Rocky shook his head. "What do pie and cookies have to do with Marshall's som....som...som..uh.."
"Somnambulism." Reminded Ryder.
"Yeah."
"Nothing. We just got off track there. Anyway, where is that pup?" Asked Chase.
"Pups..how long has he been out of your sight?" Asked Ryder, a bit worriedly.
"Like maybe..five minutes or so." Guessed Rocky.
"Five minutes?! Don't just stand there! Look for him!" Shouted Ryder, looking around the yard in a panic.
"Chill, bruh. We said five minutes. Not five hours." Said Chase.
"Or five days." Said Skye.
"Or five weeks." Added Rubble.
"But you don't understand! It's dangerous for him to be out alone! He could get lost or hurt! I wouldn't know what to do with myself if that happened! Split up and look for your brother NOW!"
"Marshall, where are you?!" Shouted Rocky.
"Marshall! Can you hear us?!" Shouted Skye.
"What's all the commotion out here?" Asked Mayor Goodway, walking over to them.
"Marshall's nowhere in sight! I'm getting scared!" Shouted Ryder.
"He's gone?! Oh dear!"
"Mawshall!"
"Marshall!"
"Stay calm, Ryder. STAY CALM." Ryder told himself.
Chase spoke to Zuma. "I can't decide who needs more help. Marshall or Ryder."
"I'm sure he couldn't have gone far. We can check around back." Suggested Goodway.
"Do you think he went inside?" Asked Rubble.
"Maybe someone else has spotted him." Said Rocky.
Ryder was rubbing his forehead and breathing fast. This made the pups and Goodway rather concerned.
"Hey Ryder, you alright?" Asked Skye.
"Does it look like I'm alright?!"
Rocky tried to speak. "Relax, we can-"
"Relax?! I can't relax! Anything can happen to him! What if he went out onto the street?! What if he went to Foggy Bottom or something?!"
"It was five minutes, Ryder." Said Chase.
"Ten now." Said Rocky.
Zuma nudged him.
"Yeah well a lot can happen in five minutes! I've already discussed with you pups about his-"
"Issues?" Asked Skye.
"Let's not call them, 'issues.' It's a condition and it's not his fault."
"Well it's not our fault he wandered off!" Shouted Chase.
"You could've at least kept an eye on him! He's your brother! This is ridiculous! What am I going to do?!"
"He must be around here somewhere. In his Pup-house maybe?" Suggested the mayor.
"No, he doesn't appear to be in there." Said Rocky.
"Maybe he's playing hide-and-seek with us. That's his favorite game." Said Chase.
"But lately he hasn't been playing much of anything." Said Zuma.
"Robo-dog! Robo-dog! Wake up!" Shouted Ryder into his Pup-pad.
"(Bark, bark, bark!)"
"You gotta-No I don't care if you're tired!"
"(Bark, bark!)"
"Too bad! Stop being lazy! Marshall's gone missing so go fly and search for him! Get on it!"
Chase glared at the others. "Great. Just great. If YOU GUYS hadn't been so wrapped up in that game of jump rope, then this whole mess-"
"US?! JUST US?! What about YOU?!" Shouted Skye.
"Yeah, Chase! We're ALL to blame!" Shouted Rocky. "..Right?"
"Maybe I can call someone..or I can drive around town.." Mumbled Ryder to himself.
"You dummy! It's you who always ignores Marshall!" Shouted Chase.
"Oh look who's talking! You two used to be the best of friends until you went off with Zuma! That was a cold move!" Shouted Skye.
"Cause Marshall went off with Ryder! What else was I supposed to do?!" Shouted Chase, getting defensive.
"Alright, break it up, you dodos! We don't have time for this!" Shouted Rubble.
"I trwied calling Mawshall with my Pup-tag but he didn't answew." Said Zuma.
"Well try something else!" Shouted Ryder. "Someone think of something!"
"Use your heads before I smash 'em!" Shouted Chase.
"I'd like to see you try!" Shouted Rocky.
Goodway tried to speak. "Now pups, that's not very nice-"
"Marshall's probably gone even farther at this point cause we haven't even thought of something!" Shouted Rubble.
"Well then let's THINK, you idiots!" Shouted Chase.
As everyone continued shouting, they didn't notice the rest of their small family approaching. Jake, Everest, Carlos and Tracker came walking up to the Lookout with smiles on their faces, feeling excited about the two weeks they would be spending there. The husky and chihuahua were a step ahead of their owners, who were carrying luggage. However, their smiles turned to frowns when they noticed everyone shouting angrily at each other, except for Mayor Goodway, who was only trying to calm them down. Jake and Carlos looked at each other in confusion and worry.
"Oh yeah?! Well if you hadn't turned your back for ONE SECOND-" Shouted Chase.
"You did the same!" Shouted Rocky.
"Well I was watching him more than you!"
"Not true!"
"I think I was watching him more than the rest of you!" Shouted Rubble.
"None of us can prove who was watching him more!" Shouted Skye.
Goodway tried to speak. "No need for a big fight. Let's put our heads together and-"
"This whole thing is your fault, Skye! Not mine!" Shouted Chase.
"No it isn't, stupid! It's..it's Robo-dog's fault!" Shouted the cockapoo.
"Where is that rusty robot anyway?!" Shouted Rubble.
"How can it be his fault if he wasn't here to witness?! It's Zuma's fault!" Shouted Rocky.
"Is not! It's Mawshall's own fault!"
"It's Rubble's fault!" Shouted Skye.
Ryder quickly turned around. "Would you all SHUT UP?! I'm trying to THINK!" He shouted.
The pups were stunned to see him act this way. Especially in front of Goodway.
"Maybe it's your fault, Ryder!" Shouted Chase.
"Excuse me?! Look, I've got a million things on my mind EVERYDAY! I can't keep track of everything! You pups are supposed to help me out! I give you one task, ONE TASK, and that is to watch your brother. And what do you guys do?! You lose sight of him!"
"Why do you have to be so mad about the darn thing?! We can't do everything perfectly!" Shouted Rocky.
"He's your brother. No game, whether it be jump rope, hopscotch, 'cowboys' or Pup-Pup Boogie, can ever match up to be as important as HIM! You KNOW how much we have to keep a close eye on him!"
"It didn't used to be this way!" Shouted Zuma.
"Well it's that way now and you pups have to deal with it and help him through it! You're the PAW PATROL for crying out loud!" Ryder pointed to the distance as he shouted at them. "But now, thanks to your carelessness, my poor pup is out there where the world could've snatched him from me! I don't see how you can stand around trying to blame one person for this when ALL of you were responsible for watching him!"
"Um, we've got company.." Said Chase.
"Don't try to change the subject, young man! The sooner we-"
Jake cleared his throat. "Um, what's going on?" He asked, a bit awkwardly.
"That's what I wanna know. How come you're all standing here arguing?" Asked Everest.
"Hey, guys. Didn't see you there.." Said Skye.
"I'LL tell you what's going on! These pups of mine let Marshall wander off! As you know, that can become very dangerous! His mentality is not where it should be because of his medications for his somnambulism!"
"He hasn't gotten better?" Asked Carlos, concerned.
"No way! Sure, he sleepwalks less but now can't sleep or sleeps too much and lags during the day!" Complained Chase.
"And sometimes he doesn't wanna eat and he doesn't play or do anything!" Added Skye.
"And he spaces out and gets distracted easily." Added Rubble.
"AND wanders off like he did today! You pups should've been more responsible! I'm very dissapointed in you!" Reprimanded Ryder.
"We'll help find him. Can you all calm down a little? We just got here and we don't like to see you fight." Said Jake.
"Yeah. Chillax, Ryder." Said Rocky.
"I'm trying, but Marshall is MISSING so of course I'm worried sick!"
Rubble felt bad and did his best to comfort his owner. "It'll be alright, Ryder. No som..som.."
Ryder sighed in frustration. "SOMNAMBULISM."
"Right. That. It can't get in Marshall's way. He's strong and smart."
"He certainly is." Agreed Skye.
"Amen to that!" Exclaimed Rocky.
"That's right. If he really is lost he'll realize soon enough and come back." Assured Jake.
"In the meantime, we'll look for him. Won't we?" Said Everest, looking around at the group.
Everyone agreed.
"Alright. Yeah." Said Ryder, still a bit tense but easing up. "He'll be fine. We'll all be fine. Everything will be just fine. Besides, he knows his way around Adventure Bay backwards and forwards. He was raised here."
Carlos tried to speak "Right. We'll-"
"Yeah, well I still think it's your fault!" Shouted Chase to the other pups.
"It isn't!" Shouted Skye.
"It's mostly YOUR fault!" Shouted Rubble.
Carlos sighed and at this point Ryder was already banging his head on the tree.
