I can't say that what happened is totally okay. But his apology sounded so sincere that I couldn't help but forgive him.

I froze in that moment. Nakatingin lang sakanya. And then suddenly, I smiled.

"Bakit?" Tanong niya. "Am I that good-looking?" dugtong niya.

"Hmmm.." I paused. "Pwede na." I smirked.

"A-ano?" Utal utal niyang sabi.

"HAHAHAHAHA" I couldn't help myself but laugh. "Yu-yung mukHAHAHAHA!!" At hindi ko talaga mapigilan. His reaction was priceless!

"Very funny." Ang tanging nasagot niya. And as he turned his back on me, I saw him smile.

I don't know how or why but that moment it feels like I've known him my whole life.

Nag punta naman ako ng kwarto para ayusin yung gamit ko. At pagkatapos ay nagpalit na rin ako ng tuyong damit. Hindi pa ako nakakalabas nakarinig na ako ng pamilyar na boses.

"Scarlette?.." Nathan. Agad naman akong lumabas ng kwarto, at tama nga ako. Nathan's here.

"Hey.." mahinahong sabi ko. And then agad naman siyang napatingin sa'kin.

"Kilala mo ba siya Ma'am Scarlette?" tanong ni Gab. I just nod and smiled. "Sige ho, kanina ka pa niyan pinagtatanong e." Napangiti naman kami pareho.

Lalapitan ko na sana si Nathan ng biglang pasulpot sulpot na naman itong si Harvey na galing sa c.r., napatingin naman siya sa'kin and then kay Nathan sabay lapit dito.

"Harvey pare." Harvey said extending his hands towards Nathan.

"Nathan." Nathan replied and shakes Harvey's hand.

"Hey!" I snapped. "How did you know that we're here?"

"Your dad told me." Lumapit naman sa'kin si Nathan and handed me a powerbank and a usb cord. "Magcharge ka na, for sure you have a lot of messages to read."

Sinaksak ko naman agad yung phone ko. "I haven't talk to him yet, pano nalaman ni dad na we are here?" I queried.

"What's with those questions? Aren't you glad I'm here?" He retorted.

"Of course I'm glad! It's just that I'm curious, that's all." Tinapik tapik naman ni Harvey ang balikat ko na parang pinapakalma ako, sabay upo at nakikinig lang samin. This guy..geez. I am calm!!!

"There's only two maps at the fridge, yung isa sa resthouse and the other one is here." Nathan explained looking to Harvey then back to me.

"Did you went to the resthouse?" Tanong ko, when I know for sure na pumunta siya.

"Yes, yesterday. Pinapag-stay pa nila ako dun overnight. But knowing na you're here with.." he immediately paused. "uhm.. that's why umalis agad ako and headed here."

I think I've heard enough and there's nothing wrong with him going here to pick us up. Maybe.

*Silence*

And then, "So let's go!" said Harvey hastily. Tumayo naman siya sa pagkakaupo niya! Ngiting ngiti. This guy only thinks he's the only one na makakapang asar. I could do it, too. I will try.

"I think we should stay here for..." I haven't finished my sentence yet, and then pinanlalakihan na ako ng mata ni Harvey.

"—Are you serious?" He said, cutting me off. "I mean, there's nothing wrong here pero this is what we have been waiting for then you wanted to stay here?" He added.

"Until this afternoon lang naman." Sabi ko. "And besides, Nathan needs to rest. He's been on the road for like 6 or 7 hours." Tumingin naman ako kay Nathan. "Right, Nathan? You need to rest." He nodded.

"Yes maybe a few hours won't hurt."  said Nathan, sitting down decisively.

It is just for a few hours. There's nothing wrong with staying for awhile. Besides, for only a few days I was able to relax here. Iba talaga kapag nasa province ka.

And one truth is, I don't know why, but I am actually nervous going to our rest house. It feels like there is something unexpected that will happen.. I need a break.
