Soley's POV:

She pulled me down towards her. I mean, wow. It was really smooth, it took me by surprise. Why she did it? I'm not very sure. I mean, it was probably just some light-hearted joke. Right?

"It appears you just fell for me." was what she said. That could be a friendly joke, easy. "After all, It's not like she leaned in for a kiss." I thought, trying to reassure myself. "What if she did lean in...?" The thought of that made me blush a bit.

My phone buzzed, causing me to check it out. It was a text.

From Destiney.

Destiney: Wanna hang out later?

Me: Sure. Time and place?

Destiney: It's a surprise. Just meet me at my house and my aunt will drive us there. See you in 10?

I furrowed my eyebrows a bit.

Me: Uh ok then. Cya.

Standing up, I grab a simple t-shirt and a pair of denim shorts. Not like I have anyone to impress, so screw it. It looks decent, anyway.

Luckily, Destiney's house wasn't too far from my place, so I made it there in no more than the suggested time. I found Destiney waving at me from afar, standing beside her aunt's car. I smiled as I approached her.

"Are you gonna tell me where we're going yet?" I asked.

She shook her head. "Nope. You'll just find out when you get there!" She smiles happily and opens the car door for me. As soon as I enter her car, I go on my phone for entertainment.

There is a bit of silence, not necessarily awkward, but not comfortable either. I was still oblivious as to where we were going , but it's a Sunday, so Destiney best not waste away my day. Not that I think she will, but yeah.

"S-So, are you hyped?" Destiney asked. I questioned her stutter in my head a bit, but shook it off.

"Well, I don't really know where we are going, but sure." I say unsure, but smiling nevertheless.

I notice that Destiney's face fell a bit at my choice of words. I immediately begin to regret my words and quickly make something up.

"Kidding. I'm just glad I can get out of the house. I trust you to pick something fun." I say, in attempt to bring her mood back up.

She smiles a bit and I feel relief wash over myself.Turning my phone back on, I swear I see Destiney staring at me for minutes on end. Looking up, I just find her staring out the window. I shrug and look back at my device.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"We're here!" Destiney said in excitement.

I looked up from my phone, expecting us to be at John's Incredible Pizza or a park. But no.

At first I couldn't identify where we were, but then I saw the purple signs and purple rooftop and it hit me. We are at Chuck E Cheese.

I try not to frown. "We're at... Chuck E Cheese?" I said, in hopes that this is just a prank.

"Yup!" Destiney opens her car door, eventually making her way to mine as she opens it for me.

"Thanks" I mumble, hopping out of the car.

Destiney ecstatically runs to the double doors of the large building filled to the brim with small children.

Before she can pull open the door, I stop her. Her aunt is gone by now, so I become more upfront with her.

"This isn't a prank." I say, laughing. "I'm not four, you know that right?" I continue, slightly too harsh.

A pout takes form on her face as she becomes clearly hurt.

"I thought you'd like it." She said, flashing me an apologetic and sorrowful smile.

"No, no, no, it's perfect. I just thought it was joke. I mean, I like pizza, and I like games, so works for me." I say, trying to fix yet another one of my screw-ups.

"Yeah." She replies, completely unsure of my statement. "We don't have to go in." She continues.

I just smile and pull open the doors of the child's play place for Destiney to walk in. "Let's go." I urge, with a reassuring smile.

Destiney smiled back and followed behind me. We did what any usual human being would do there: Eat pizza, attempt to touch the animatronics, play games, stuff like that.

"Wanna go in the photo booth?" I ask.

She nods vigorously and we rush to enter the small contained area.

"What mode? Classic, mirrored, or...?" Destiney questions, trailing off at the end.

"Whatever mode gets me closer to you." Destiney blurts out.

"What?"

"I mean," She pauses. "So that we can fit in the frame...the viewfinder, 'cause it's a small camera." She finishes.

In return, I hum in acknowledgement, and hurry to press the start button on the small screen. Immediately, a countdown begins on the screen. At first, we put the sides of our heads together and smile.

All's good. That is, until the countdown hit one. During that one second, Destiny turns her head and kisses my cheek. In even less time than it took for her to do it, her head is back to where it once was.

The picture had already been taken.

I whip my head to the side, to look at her, but before a word can even escape my mouth, she's gone. I furrow my eyebrows and wait a couple seconds for the picture to be printed. As soon as it is, I grab it and exit the small booth.

Destiney is standing next to the booth, with a sheepish smile. "Oops."

I glance down at the Chuck E Cheese bordered, black and white photo. It captured the exact moment that she turned her head. In my hand, I hold a picture of Destiney, my friend, kissing me. As I stare at the picture a bit longer, I feel heat rising to my face. Looking up, I see Destiney already on her way to play other games, leaving me by the booth in shock. I glanced back at the photo, smiling a bit.

That's when it hit me.

I immediately ripped my gaze away from the photo and shoving it in my pocket, remembering something, or rather, someone. I shake my head in denial, trying to shake away the image of Destiney kissing my cheek.

"They're gonna be so mad if they find out..." My thoughts on them finding out at all makes my palms sweat. "I can't let them know about this photo" I tell myself nervously. I began to think of just throwing the photo away when I get home, but know that's something I wouldn't be able to handle doing.

"I'll just have to keep it a secret." I reassure myself.

"You coming or what?" Destiney says from afar, pulling me back into reality.

I nod. "Yeah!" I begin to jog towards her with a small smile.

I can keep this a secret, right?
