Stalked by my ex., oh yeah and his brother's my mate

Chapter 9 : Drop off

For the next couple of moments we sat in silence and I stared at Hawaiian hula lady swaying back and forth on the console.
I fiddled with my hands in my lap.  I wanted to know if Luke had a mate, as soon as he described it to me. But if he did or if he eventually was going find her, kissing me was a big mistake. I would just be the one with my feelings being broke once he found her.
I could never be with Luke
Luke placed his hands on top of mine. “Silv ask me”
I stared at our hands. I couldn’t bring myself to ask him.

“Luke! I missed you!” A girly voice yelled.
Both Luke and myself glanced to the front door of the cabin where two girls and an older lady stepped out. Luke smiled and exited the car coming around the front to open my door.
The older lady immediately pulled him into a hug. She had red chestnut hair and warm brown eyes.
“Oh Luke it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. How dare you neglect your Auntie.” She scolded still enveloping him in her arms. “Oh look how tall you’ve got. Taller than your father. And how’s your mother doing? Did she learn how to cook yet? I always told your father-”
“Mom! some of us also would like to give him a hug” The girly voice from before yelled. Pulling Luke into a hug. She had the same color eyes and hair as her mother.
“Hey cuz” Luke laughed ruffling her hair.
“What? No love for me Lukey bear” The third girl said. She twirled her blond hair and strutted over to Luke.
“Of course Cass” Luke gave her a quick hug.
Over his shoulder our eyes met and she smirked.
“And who is this beautiful girl over here. Luke are you going to introduce us? What happened to your manners?!”
Luke grabbed my hand and brought me closer to the group.
“ Forgive me. Silver, this is my Aunt Beth, my cousin Lina and her best friend Cassandra”
I fidgeted awkwardly. “Hi, you can call me Silv.”
Both girls waved.
His aunt pushed Luke out of the way and gave me a bone-crushing hug. “It’s so nice to meet you. I have been waiting for this for a long time. Luke leave. We’ll take great care of Silver here.”
“Now come on girls, Lets give Luke and Silv some privacy.”
Luke gave each of the girls a hug and I watched as they entered the cabin leaving us alone.

I could feel Luke’s presence behind me, but couldn’t force myself to turn around. I felt arms wrap around me and I stiffened.
“Silver, are you okay.” His scent enveloped me. Like cinnamon and the forest.
“I’m fine”
“Silv you know you can always tell me what bothering you?” His hands lazily moved over mine and I tried to remain passive.
 He has a mate. A mate that’s not you
“I know” I detached myself from his embrace and looked at the ground. “I’m cold.”
I couldn’t see his face but I knew that Luke frowned.
His voice was tense as his grabbed my hand and pulled me in the direction of the cabin. “Let’s get you inside then.”

We slowly walked to the front of the cabin and Luke turned me around before I could go in. Our eyes immediately locked onto one another and I felt my breath hitch. He was so beautiful but still so manly. My eyes made sexy time with the concrete as the battle between my heart and mind commenced. I wanted him to kiss me, future mate be damned. But I remembered how those same eyes lit up when he spoke of her, and I knew that he could never love me that way.
Luke tilted my chin up and leaned in closer. My heart sped up only to be replaced with disappointment as he gave me a peck on the forehead.
“See you later Silver. Have fun and stay safe, this thing with Steven will be over in no time.”
I nodded and watched him get into his car and drive off. I heard laughter inside the cabin, and with one more glance toward the night sky I turned around and entered.
