It was finally the day in which my dad would have to go to court for trial. The prosecutor were the Do family. On the defendant side was going to be my father and one of his employees, whom my father said, was the one who actually did the killing.

My father had not entered the room. I had been asked if I wanted to walk in with my father, but I refused to. I wanted to stay as far away from my father as I could. I didn't want to do anything to do with him. I didn't want to testify anything or have to be thought of as an accomplice.

Gukhyun was at the prosecutors side. He would be testifying about the evidence of the crime and would be demonstrating pictures to the judge. Next to the attorney, was a woman, who was probably in her late twenties. This woman was Do Yeseul's daughter, Do Mina. She was the oldest daughter of the victim.

I heard the doors open and saw my father walking through the open doors. I saw him look towards me, but I avoided him. I turned my head the other way, ashamed of my own father. I was ashamed of being his son and of having cared about him.

The first thing done at the trial was my father's swearing to say the truth at all times of the trial. Then, the first person to speak after that was the prosecuting attorney. Following him, Gukhyun  presented the evidence as well as pictures of the crime scene. After Gukhyun, the man that supposedly did the actual killing testified.

"Mr. Park had threatened to kill me and to destroy my family," the man said, "I had borrowed money from him in order to be able to keep my small house. He called me that morning asking me to kill this woman as a way to repay the loan."

"Did you kill Ms. Do, then?" the prosecuting attorney asked

"Ne," the man testifying said, "because I was afraid that Mr. Park would harm my family, but now I am ready to receive the consequences."

I felt terrible for this man who was just trying to protect his family from my father. He had only been trying to live a good life, but this was ruined by my father.

After this man testified, it was my father's turn to speak. He was impassive, but I could tell that many things were going through his brain, and that he was breaking down, but he deserved the emotional pain he was going through.

"Mr. Park, may I ask why you ordered this man to kill an innocent woman?" the prosecuting attorney asked

"I offered this as a way out of his finnancial troubles," he answered

"That's not exactly the answer I wanted, so let me put this in a different way. What was the specific reason why you had the need to kill an innocent woman?" the attorney asked

"First of all, that woman was not innocent in any way. She had threatened me various times," my father answered

"How so?" the attorney asked

"She said she would reveal a secret that only she knew. She said she could destroy my company with this secret," my father said

"And what was the secret?" the attorney asked again

"I cannot say," my father answered

"You must," the attorney demanded

"I did something that I greatly regret, and she saw it," my father said, "That is as deep as it can go."

For the next hour, my father's attorney would be trying to prove that my father was mentally ill, and that he was not aware of what he was doing, but I knew that my father was perfectly healthy, and that he would be announced to be guilty, which was exactly what happened.

I went outside after two hours and thirty minutes of the trial and headed home. I was so disappointed and angry with my father. I arrived home and didn't know what to do, so I started drinking. I called Minyun, asking if she could come over, which she agreed to do.

Within thirty minutes, I heard the doorbell ring. I ran to the door to open it and let Minyun enter. She was wearing a red off the shoulder bodycon dress with some black heels.

I led her to the couch, but once we sat down, the lights went out as the rain had become a storm.

"Do you have a generator?" she asked

"Aniyo," I answered

"Candles?" she asked

I shook my head in reply. The lights in this building had never gone out ever since I've lived here.

I began getting more frustrated as I looked for ways to light up the place. I looked at the fire place that only I had and no other apartments had. I grabbed some wood and made a fire, even though it was mid March.

Minyun and I talked, but the heat was so much that I had to take off my shirt an leave my undershirt on. The light that the fire made reflected on Minyun's sweat. She stared at the fire and then looked at me.

I wanted to touch her. I could feel the tension between us. I was sweating and felt like I was suffocating. I took off my undershirt, trying to calm the heat that I felt.

I looked at her and she looked at me. She gulped as she moved her look down to my lips. I could no longer resist the urge and I placed my lips against hers. She immediately responded back, passionately like never before.

I suddenly remembered of what had happened earlier today and my anger returned.

I parted my lips from hers and she gasped for hair. Her hair was now wet as our bodies radiated heat. She was on my lap now and I kissed her again, angrily.

I moved my lips to her jaw and then her neck that glistened with the reflection of the dim light made by the fire. My hands reached her back and found the zipper of her dress. My hands immediately pulled the zipper down and pulled her dress down as my lips continued placing sloppy kisses all over her neck. The dress slipped off her body and she kicked her heels to the side. She slipped my pants down and I took off my shoes as well. I unclasped her bra and carried her to my bedroom where we continued all night.
