I was having my STI internal check. I was lying on my back, my legs spread as my doctor was getting the cells from inside my cervix for testing. She had just finished the first two swabs (that I couldn't feel at all). Then she did the final and most painful swab, the chlamydia swab.
She uses this uncomfortable toothbrush to scrape the inside of my cervix for some cells to test for chlamydia. It hurt and the doctor said I would probably experience some spotting later on.
Finally, the swabs were finished. My legs were closed and I was free of the speculum. My doctor was talking to me about something when she accidentally knocked over one of the tubes that she was taking to the lab. I had this feeling, and yes, I was right. The chlamydia tube had fallen to the floor, smashing into a million pieces. I had to take off my pants and underwear and open my legs and get that speculum back in to redo the test for chlamydia! It turns out that
I did not have chlamydia. After all the trauma!
