Part 5
I covered me completely. The force of the waterfall should have crushed me, left me little more than a puddle but it didn’t.
I felt not the weight nor heard the deafening roar that should be there.
I felt it leaving the black ooze. It burned and hissed in the torrent.
I kept my eyes closed. I knew who was there and couldn’t face Him. I sat there, face in my arms.
Over and over I cried “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
He pushed so softly and led me out.
There was still emptiness. A strange emptiness. One that hadn’t had something taken from it but one of expectation.
Standing up straight I looked into those eyes. Eyes of infinite joy.
He pointed to where I should go but I paused so as to reflect on this journey. I remember what the lady had said.
I stand at the start of the path, a flower in each hand. The lily and a rose.
One step.
“I refuse to die”
