Allie's POV
After the beach, all four of us go down to a little ice cream shop on the pier.
"It's pronounced va-nell-ah!"
"No! It's va-nill-ah!"
"That's not how it's pronounced, stupid!"
"But that's how it's spelled!"
"Guys! It's just ice cream!" I finally shout after hearing Laura and Jack bickering. Grady sits back and does nothing, obviously amused by the situation. Laura insists that the pronunciation of vanilla is va-nill-ah, while Jack thinks otherwise.
"But i'm right!" Laura shouts for the last time. "How do you guys pronounce it?"
"We always say va-nell-ah." Grady shrugs.
"What is with you people?!" Laura throws her arms up in defeat. I laugh, taking another bite of my not-at-all-complicated chocolate ice cream.
"Allie, there's something on your nose." Grady points out.
"Is it ice cream?" I ask, softly wiping my nose; I don't feel anything.
"It is now!" he smirks, lifting my cone up onto my face.
"Grady!" I shriek, picking up my napkin and wiping it off vigorously. Jack and Laura are laughing, along with Grady, who is laughing the hardest. "You have a brain compatible to that of a five year old."
Grady shrugged, a grin still present on his face. Although he was 18, he was a five year old.
"You're so sweet!" He joked, pinching my cheek. I swatted his hand away from my face, glaring at him. "I love you, Allie."
"You're a dork." I laugh, shaking my head. "Anyway, I wanna go home and unpack. Can we go?"
"No way! I'm just getting started!" Laura exclaims, looking at me with an over exaggerated expression.
"Exactly, can't it wait, Allie?" Grady sighs, looking over at me.
"Tell you what, you two go have fun, i'll drive Allie home and help her unpack." Jack speaks, standing up.
"Are you sure? You don't have to-"
"No arguing, let's go." he smiles, grabbing my wrist and dragging me out to the car.
"Alrighty then." I laugh, hopping into the front seat. As soon as we drove away, I plug in my phone, blasting music.
"Yo, I love this song!" Jack exclaims, turning it up more. I laugh, watching him sing along to Boom Clap by Charli XCX.
"BOOM CLAP, THE SOUND OF MY HEART THE BEAT GOES ON AND ON AND ON AND ON AND!" I sing (more like shout) along with Jack. By the time we reach my house, we were hysterically laughing- almost to the point where we were tearing up. He lowers the radio, shutting off the engine while laughing.
"Want some help unpacking?" he offers as we enter through the main door which opened up right into the foyer. I nod, jogging up the stairs to my room. Jack closes the door behind him, sitting on my bed. I go into a box labeled 'electronics'. I pull out my iHome, plugging in my phone and playing music. When I pick a song to start with, I tell Jack what went where and then we got busy.
Aside from the occasional drop of something, me hitting Jack, and him cracking jokes, we actually managed to get everything unpacked and decorate my room. Sure it took a few hours, but it didn't seem like Jack minded. I take a step back to admire my new room- it's big, if i'm being honest; the whole house is. I have a queen sized bed pressed against the cream colored wall, a 52' flat screen right across from it nailed onto the wall. I have these big black wood letters that spelled out the word 'VOGUE' glued to the area above my bed. There are two bedside tabled with lamps on them on each side of the bed, one of them has a clock on it. A blacony with a view of a huge pool with a small wooded area behind it is next to my bed. Many throw pillow are casually in front of my main pillows, adding a bit of flavor to my bed design. I smile, turning to Jack.
"We did good, Gilinsky." I state, watching him look over my room as well.
"That we did." he laughs. After a few seconds his phone starts ringing.
"Hello? Hey, what's up man?"
Jack holds up a finger that might as well say "one second" then walks out of my room into the hallway. I sigh, carefully sitting on my newly made bed. I pick up a new issue of Seventeen magazine, flipping through the pages carelessly.
"That was my friend, Jack," he says, re-entering the room. "He wants to come over to my house, but my mom said me and Laura had to stay with you guys the whole day. Can he come here, you can hang with us, and that's an opportunity most people wouldn't pass up." he smirks, getting cocky.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." I wave it off like no big deal while setting my magazine down. "Just don't destroy my house."
"Thank you, Allie!" he exclaims, jumping on me, knocking me further down on my bed. He rolls over, laying on his back. "You know, it'd be cool if you put those glow in the dark stars on your ceiling."
"Nah, That would keep me up at night." I shrug, getting up and walking to my dresser. "Is this boy coming over cute?"
"Do you have a vine?" he asks. Oh, right. It's obviously Jack Johnson. I've been watching Jack's vines since I found out he had an account.
"Oh, Jack Johnson. Okay, i'll make myself look better." I spoke, going through my dresser for clothes.
"But you already look good." Jack smiles at me, making me roll my eyes.
"I'm wearing my bikini top and soffee shorts, Jack."
"Exactly." he winks.
"Get out of my room." I point towards the door, shaking my head. He puts his hands up in surrender, walking out and closing the door behind him. I take of my current clothes and replace them with regular cut light wash jean shorts and a black, cropped muscle tee that says 'Creature of the Night' on it. I put on my black vans, reapply some waterproof mascara, then take my hair out of it's messy bun, leaving it down and wavy. I walk over to the door, opening it to find Jack sitting on the floor, scrolling through his phone.
"It only took you like, five minutes to get ready?" he questions, looking over my outfit.
"I don't take very long to dress myself." I walk into my room, leaving the door open so he knows he could come in. I sit on my bed, plugging my phone into an outlet that's almost behind my bed. I rest it on the bedside table just as Jack comes and sits next to me.
"I'm bored." he speaks, looking at me like I can automatically cure his boredom.
"Okay. And?" I ask, looking back at him.
"Did I ever tell you how pretty you got? I mean, you've always been pretty, but you're so much more-"
"Hotter?"
"Exactly."
"I was joking." I laugh, shaking my head.
"I wasn't. You are hotter." he smiles, nudging my side. "Some people tell me I look like a male model." he boasts, flexing. Not gonna lie, he has muscles, and the tank top he was wearing could probably make his fans melt.
"At least you don't have acne like you did the last time I saw you." I smirk.
"That was three years ago! I'm 18 and sexy now." he continues to remind me, even though I need no reminder.
"Sure, whatever you say, dude. So when's Jack getting here?" I ask, changing the subject.
"He should be here any minute. He's very punctual." Jack looks at his phone, pressing a few buttons.
"Unlike you." I joke, resting my head on his shoulder.
"I can be punctual if it's important." he defends himself, making me laugh. Soon enough, the doorbell rings, making me pick my head off of Jack's shoulder so he can open the front door.
