Chapter 13 - Masquerade

In the Agreste mansion

Adrien and Felix are doing there homework when Felix suddenly stops.
Adrien-"what are you thinking about Felix?"
Felix-"nothing really, just how I'm going to ask Mari to the masquerade"
Adrien-"no I'm going to ask her"
Felix-"no I am"
Adrien-"I'm going to ask her first"
Felix-"what no that's not fair"
Adrien-"too bad brother you told me to try"
Felix-"not by ruining my chance"

Adrien just stood there for a while with a smirk on his face.

Felix-"anyways it's up to Mari, let's just get our suits ready"
Adrien-"fine!"

The next day at school

Adrien and Felix both run out of the car into school. They barge past many people, including Alya and Nino
Alya-"woooowwww slow down boys, why are you in such a rush"
Adrien-"we need to ask someone something"
Alya-"if you're looking for Mari to ask her to the masquerade then your out of luck, she is coming in later today because of an appointment"
They both stopped in their tracks skidding across the floor.
Felix-"SERIOUSLY!"
Alya-"just ask her at lunch"
Felix-"no because some other person will ask her"
Alya-"well if they do I'll try and convince her to not go with him"
Felix-"thanks Alya"

At lunch

Mari-"hey guys"
Adrien and Felix-"MARI!"
Mari-"uuhhh hey?"
Adrien and Felix-"I need to ask you something"
Mari-"going on"
Both-"will you go the the masquerade party with me?"
Mari-"oh um I don't know what to say, umm both of you - ugg it's such a hard choice uhh Alya?"
Alya-"it's your choice"
Mari-"my choice"
Mari-"well I chose.....

Felix but only because I have never been to a dance with him before"
Felix-"yes!"
Adrien-"ohhh"
Nino-"hey Adrien want to get some ice cream?"
Adrien-"nah I'm good maybe later"
Nino-"ok then"
Felix-"I can't wait Mari"
Felix hugged her while Mari blushed intensely
Felix-"oh uh sorry"
Mari-"it's ok you're just excited"
Chloe-"adrikins"
Adrien-"oh no.... hhheeeeyyyyyyy Chloe"
Chloe-"I was wondering if you would like to go to the dance with me?"
Adrien-"I'm sorry Chloe, but I don't really want to go with you also I might not be going to the dance"
Mari-"what are you talking about, you are going to that dance weather you like it or not"
Adrien-"ok calm down" he laughed
Chloe ran away crying as the bell went

At the mask arrayed

Mari and Alya are both getting ready in her house

Alya-"girl thank you so much for making this amazing dress"
Mari-"your welcome, it was nothing really"

Alya dress was knee length and burgundy with black flowers running. It had a v-neck along with black net mimicking sleeves and a mask

Alya-"but no even kidding I can't believe that the mayor asked you to design Chloe's dress"
Mari-"i know right, luckily the pay covered the cost of mine and your dress but I still don't know how he knew I was a designer"
Alya-"honestly he probably asked you because he saw your dress and wanted the best for his daughter"

Mari dress was a long pink dress with fine gold details lining her hair which was in a bun. She also had a silver mask on that was tied on with a golden ribbon- she was hardly recognisable.

Chloe soon comes in with a black and yellow dress on. It had a furry yellow neck line and a big poofy yellow bottom. The black part mimicked a cardigan and she had a mask on that was inspired by a bee.

Chloe-"thanks for the dress marinette"
Mari-"your welcome"
Chloe-"I cannot wait until the best costume prize comes up"
Mari gave her a questioned look-"why?"
Chloe-"because I'm going to make the boy who wins my boyfriend"
Alya-"and why is that"
Chloe-"because only moi deserves the best and the boy who is going to win will be the best"
Mari-"but what if it someone you hate her r hates you"
Chloe-"ugg who could hate me I'm perfect"
Alya mumbles-"I could name a few"

Felix, Nino and Adrien comes in

Mari-"hey guys"
Felix-"hey Mari,want to take a photo?"
Mari-"uh yeh sure bye guys"
Nino-"want to dance Alya?"
Alya-" of course"
Adrien mumbled to himself-"and then there was was two"
Chloe-"what?"
Adrien-"what um nothing"
Chloe-"anyways want to dance"
Adrien-"um no thank you Chloe I'm good"
Chloe-"well tell me if you change your minds"
Adrien-"ok I will" he gave her an unwanted smile and wondered around the ball

Adrien pov
God I can't wait for this to be over, I didn't even want to come anyway... well actually I'm lying, I would have came so happy and eagerly if. If Mari came with me and not him. I mentally scream uggg what am I doing with my life I'm jealous of my brother who is with a girl that used to adore me but now she only likes me as a friend- karma hurts so much.

Miss bustier-"ok and now the winners of the costume contest"

I stay just incase I won I mean I didn't want to leave the girl standing there herself.

Miss bustier-"and the winner for the girls costume contest is..... drum roll please..... Marinette Dupen-Cheng"

I'm happy for Mari she totally deserves this, she does amazing designs, I mean even the mayor asked her to design his daughter a dress. But the moment was ruined when because of a certain someone....

Chloe-"ugg no fair, I should have one, Marinette probably designed my dress to look ugly so she can win"
"Calm down Chloe, is not that big of a deal"
Chloe-"ridiculous utterly ridiculous" she said storming away

Miss bustier-"anyways congratulations Mari would you like to flame your prize"

Marinette gracefully gets up on the stage an receives a mini award, every starts clapping and Mari has to wait there for the person she has to dance with

Miss bustier-"and the winner for the boys masquerade is....."
