Chapter 4

Amy's P.O.V.

Once the car was loaded, we headed to the beach with my mom driving the car.

"Why won't you let me drive the car?" I asked probably the tenth time.

My mom let out a sigh and said, "Because the last time you drove my car you got your second speeding ticket, young lady."

"That was six months ago! And I haven't even gotten in an accident yet!"

"Amy, you were going 15 miles over the speed limit!" my mother protested.

I finally gave up and said, "What can I say? I like going fast!" I knew I'd never win an argument with my mother, especially when it comes to driving. I could end up in a nasty fender bender with a porsche and it still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own my own car.

I noticed we were about half a mile away from the beach, so I pulled out my phone and opened Twitter. As we arrived a new post appeared on my page saying, "Just arrived at the beach, hope to catch some waves!" I put my phone away and helped my aunt and mom carry their beach chairs and practically sprinted to the open space I spotted near the water. My life consisted of three loves,

1. The Beach

2. Music

and

3. Jesus (Amen!)

There aren't any beaches near Merryweather, so I try to enjoy it as much as I can in the Summer. As we set up our chairs in the sand, I pulled off my swimsuit coverup to reveal my Minnie Mouse bikini (I call it that because of the red and white polka dots)

It was a nice day so I decided to take a long walk along the ocean. I loved the feeling cool ocean water and sand on my feet on a nice hot day like this. I put on my sunglasses and continued walking along the shore...

I've been walking for a while now and all of a sudden I hear a deep voice saying, "Watch out!"

I turned my head and witnessed a frisbee, hitting me right in the chest.

"OUCH!" I yelped. My mood instantly went from chilled to annoyed.

I huffed and picked up the frisbee and heard someone approaching me.

"I'm so sorry," he said, "I didn't mean to hit you! I feel like an--"

Just then I made eye contact with the boy who hit me and recognized those pale blue eyes as Scotty's!

I just can't believe this. This is the second time I ran into him in two days!. "How does this keep happening?" I wondered to myself.

We kind of just stared at each other for a few seconds, then I cracked a smile and said, "It seems we're developing a habit."

Scotty cracked an adorable grin and chuckled, "Hi Amy, it sure is."

He looked down at the frisbee in my hands, "Oh! Oh! Are you okay?"

"Yea, I'm fine, thanks!" I handed it back to him.

"I'm real sorry about that!" He said again. "I wasn't aimin' for you, I promise!"

That got me to laugh. "I believe you!"

"Hey, um, do you wanna play with us? It's just me and Joey (his drummer) and we could use more people"

I felt a little flutter inside of me and nodded my head. After 20 minutes or so throwing a frisbee around, we just sat in the sun and talked for a while. During that time I got to know more about Joey and that he has a wife and three daughters (even though he looks so young!) and lives in Nashville.

I had a great time hanging out with these two. Scotty has a certain warmness to him that made it so easy for me to talk. I didn't feel the pressure I felt when talking to a celebrity and realized that I was talking to a human being. Scotty is just so humble and kind, like the fame never gets to his head; that's what I call a gift!

I paused when I noticed we (Scotty and I) ran out of things to talk about.

"Well, um, I guess I should be going back to family now", I said as I walked away.

"Wait!" Scotty reached out and grabbed my hand. I felt a spark unite and I smiled.

"Um, Amy, I know we just met, but, uh"

he was sort of stammering with his words in a shy matter, it was so cute!

"I'm only gonna be here for a week and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to...hang out tonight, if you're free?"

I wanted to squeal with excitement! but instead it came out as:

"I...I'd love to!"

Scotty's mouth formed a crooked smile and his face really lit up.

"Well, great! How about I'll pick you up around 8? I know a really great ice cream place"

"Sounds awesome! I'll give you my number"

We exchanged phones and gave each others information, then swapped back our phones.

"I'll send you a text of my address", I said with a smile.

"Great, thanks a lot, I guess I'll see you tonight."

I walked away and when I turned back, he waved me goodbye.

I'm so glad he didn't walk me back to my family, he would have seen the insanely stupid grin on my face. But I can't help it, I'M GOING ON A DATE WITH SCOTTY! I looked down at my phone and saw Liz calling.

Oh boy, she's got a real story to hear...

OMG! Amy and Scotty just met and now they're going on a date?!?

A.N. I apologize for the late update, it's really hard writing country fan fiction when you're so hooked on hard rock :P But I'll do better, hopefully a new chapter will be posted by next week!

Another note, this friday I'm going to see Scotty perform in Cape Cod!!! I'm very excited and can't wait to hear him sing "See You Tonight"!

I love you all and thanks so much for reading!
