Xander

Not even a second after her name left my lips, my heart pounded and the beast inside roared to life.

As I gave in, my wolf was going into overdrive inside of me.

I strode out the door, feeling the power coursing through me. His body stretched through mine, consuming all my human strength and multiplying it tenfold. I didn't care that I had just gotten back from running hundreds of miles. I didn't care that I was exhausted. I didn't care about what I felt.

I cared about Arabella. She needed me and I gave up on her, even fought my wolf on writing a pathetic little letter. My stubbornness probably put her in pain, and that thought alone slapped me back into reality.

Who cared if Alexander was rubbing off on me, I couldn't deny that something inside me felt right when I had made my decision to try.

"Alpha?" I looked down with intensity at Claudius, concern marking his features.

All I could do was nod, my voice caught in my throat. Turning on my heels, I bounded towards the door. I would pack a bag, call Grace to get my car and tell her to watch over the pack while I was gone.

"Alpha-!"

At the door, I stopped, gripping the wood roughly barely controlling my urgency. Looking over my shoulder, I see a worried Claudius putting on his glasses and jogging over to me with his bowed legs. "The moon goddess does things for a reason!"

I nodded, taking in what just happened and his words, and left.

I needed to get to her, I needed Arabella.

My feet hit the ground hard, footsteps echoing around the large cabin. My vision was narrowed toward the door at the very end of the hall. Before I knew it, I pushed the barrier open with so much intensity that it flew off and landed several feet in front of the exit.

The pack members around the area halted and looked over in fear and confusion.

Seems like I was provoking that emotion a lot today.

With my wolf fueling my need, I felt the air inside me push out into a roar that shook the ground. "GRACE!"

There was a sound of feet padding across the forest floor, everyone in the area deathly silent from my roar. And then I saw her, a wolf bounding towards me. She was dark grey, almost charcoal, and large in size. Her ears were held back in fear, thinking she did something wrong. She trudged closer, tail between her legs and only a couple feet in front of me. I felt my body leaning forward, my legs carrying me towards her. Her wolf was timid, the exact opposite of Grace. They balanced each other perfectly.

Her head was at my height, making our eyes leveled. Hers swarmed with grey, and before I even knew what I was doing, my wolf connected us.

Done. My wolf stiffly stated, assuring me that we made a connection.
