(A/n Some Arabella candy for ya 🙈🤙😚)

I jolted forward, feeling the strength of my beast flowing through my body. I felt my body lean forward, and my feet began to move on their own., I was almost in arms reach of my best friend when I was suddenly knocked out of my trance.

There was then a heavy BOOM that sent vibrations through the castle, an explosive sound which ripped through the gentle night sky.

My arms came out, waving around slightly to balance myself. I looked at the ground, studying it for a split second before my alarm filled eyes shot up to Roman.

He wore a fierce look, eyes ablaze as he cursed. "Sounded like an explosion!"

My mouth hung open as I tried to piece things together. "Xander wouldn't--"

"To hell, he wouldn't!" Roman growled, turning towards Aaron. "Look after Arabella. Don't let her do anything rash."

"I'm standing right here!" I raised my voice slightly, still conscious of my parents who were just down the hall. They could either be running down the hall now or had suspected something before and were already running towards the noise.

Roman looked at me, then back to Aaron. And then, not even a split second later, he spun on his heel and sprinted off. Panic immediately overtook me.

If he got to Xander before I did, there was no telling what would happen. I snarled, darting forward.

My face collided with a solid object, a certain annoyance blocking my way. Aaron had stepped in front of me, grabbing my shoulders and holding me in place before I could even step out of the room.

"Ara, I love you to bits, but-" He sighed, touching my cheek and giving me a sympathetic look. I gave him my best glare, puffing out my chin and squinting hard.

"If we are going to work this out, Xander and I, we need to talk. That isn't going to happen if Roman gets there first!" My feet were thumping lightly against the wooden floors, creaking to my ears only. Her speed was coursing through me, guaranteeing us to zoom past as soon as Aaron looked unsure. Even though I wanted to push him out of the way, I wouldn't risk hurting him by using my newfound strength. Aaron had done so much for me, he didn't deserve to be thrown across the room.

But he sighed, his grip on my arms loosening as his decision wavered. I made a step to move past, but he wasn't distracted enough. His grip on my arm instantly tightened, and he stepped on my bare foot that had tried to move around him. "Shit!" I exclaimed.

"Didn't you learn any gentler words in your manners courses?" He frowned, tapping my nose with his pointer finger. I scrunched it, rearing back and scowling. Aaron held me, though, his lips thinning into a tight frown.
